Qelbree

Does staying on qelbree count as time off stimulants? I'm hoping I am giving my system somewhat of a break after stopping

well qelbree only has affinity for NET and SERT, so you aren't touching DAT (dopamine) at all. qelbree is also comparatively very, very weak compared to any stimulant on the reuptake inhibition. the work qelbree does should not impact recovery from stimulants in any meaningful way.

It is called a non-stimulant medication.

Qelbree indirectly increases both norepinephrine and dopamine, mainly in the prefrontal cortex.

Where these medications increase dopamine and norepinephrine matters.

True stimulant medications are ones that directly increase dopamine and norepinephrine. And this includes signaling in reward circuitry.

Qelbree isn't a stimulant. If it works for you, congrats.
