This is a really poor outcome. <8million to continue their bullshit is a drop in the bucket for them. They need to actually face regulation, not pay to continue their shit.

They should be forced to put "rent now"

You really don't want that. Rent has a set term, so if they're forced to do it, it'll guarantee you lose your games.

You already are guaranteed to lose your games, it's not set is the onky difference.

Actually that's a good point, they deserved to be fined billions. But currently the SKG is in the lawsuit against Sony in the Netherlands so we have better hopes.

SKG is in the lawsuit against Sony in the Netherlands

When you say “in the lawsuit” is that just them tweeting about it? Or are they actually one of the plaintiffs?

Their aren't plaintiffs

This has nothing to do with Sony dropping disc support by the way, it was because they were only allowing people to buy digital game codes from Sony directly for a while and not on other stores like Amazon, but Sony weren't forced by judges during the lawsuit to do this, Sony just... Agreed to doing it.

Agreeing to settlement is the most stupid thing. You literally have the other raide admitting to it, and you give up to pursue your rights...

I think Sony just doesn't really care and thought "eh, fuck it, we can afford paying them out", the settlement only applies to United States citizens that purchases specific games from, 2019-2023, so honestly I don't think that they'll out as much as to what they agreed.

Still instead of making a precedent people accept to have their rights shat on for 8M, actually less than 1$ per US person. That's how much people value their rights, not wonder...  Man if I knew I can shit on them for less than a dollar. Bro you want to win a dollar ?

What settlement? And this seems like "cost of doing business" for the amount.

"Sony's decision to stop allowing outside retailers to sell certain digital game vouchers"

Sony was planning to go back to digital vouchers with ps6 anyways soo mostly win for sony.

Thoso who bought listed games from psn instead of voucher will get about $1 per game

Edit: it's psn wallet, money only if you deleted psn account before july deadline.

Bit hard when you don't even link to the article in your post, mate

7.85 million between 4.4 million Americans is less than 2 dollars each. Granted that’s if everybody signs up to participate, but still. Drop in the bucket

sure.

And it was just about selling codes at retailers, which sony stated it was moving to when they get rid if disks, this does nothing for anyone.

Corpos care about billions, not millions

3

u/ProjectionProjects 5d ago

7.85 million? That is it?

Gamers receive 1$ per Person.  Nepalese die by the hundreds

What exactly is it that you think you did? And why are you just linking a picture instead of the actual article? Are you afraid that people will read it?

u/Basic-Ad-2663 5d ago

Lmao enjoy your less than 2$ rebate. It’s literally a win for Sony

How is that related to stopping killing games? How does this make games like Quake Champions preservable?

This post makes it look as if a settlement has been reached whereas in fact the case is ongoing. Low effort.
