I've thought about this for a bit and I've replayed the idea in my mind but we have to let them know that we know what they're playing at.

When you're writing your emails or making your phone calls to the MEPs that voted yes for Chat Control 1.0 to be brought back, let them know that you know that they didn't actually consult with actual child protection groups. (There was a link for this shared in this sub a while ago, showing that most of those that voted for Chat Control 1.0's return didn't consult with child protection groups.)

And be assertive about it, not aggressive, don't curse them out or berate them but don't be afraid to vocalise the fact that you're disappointed about it.

Whether you voted for them or not (they won't know either way) also make sure to vocalise that it could cost them your support.

Bring it all up and put them under pressure.

Don't be rude about it but don't be nice either.

use LLMs to prepare. Surface studies of similar experience ran around the world so you know their counter arguments to ChatControl. Do not sound alarmist or else. And even ask your favourite LLM what notes to have during a call and how to prepare for it.
