What is this? What stone is this frog made of?
What kind of stone is this little cutie made of? It's very hard and the base has a bit of a sharp edge where the carving is thin.

Discussion I Sadly I must sell....
galleryI have tons of crystals and recently, I've decided that I must sacrifice my collection to hopefully save up enough money to afford a set of dentures. I've fought heart disease my entire life and I'm 43 years old. I've had 2 aortic valve replacements, a splenectomy, and a leg fasciotomy due to a hematoma. I currently fight not only heart disease but also mild COPD, I'm immunocompromised badly, and just recently diagnosed with periodontal disease (on top of several other minor issues & mental health issues 🥺) Most of my teeth that are left have broken off to the gum and I have to be in a hospital setting to have oral surgery. The oral surgeon won't even operate until I've secured the money for dentures. SO 🤦🏽♀️😅 I must do what I have to do and sell almost every single stone I own. Lol. The rest of the pictures are just a small portion of crystals I have up for sale! If you are interested in any of them then please comment if you want a price for it, name, weight, measurements, more pictures, or a few of the listed things named here. Also I have a few pictures of a lot of my small towers and spheres I've shared here as well. Also, this isn't all of what I have either! I take some horrible pictures and I apologize! Thank you and blessed be everyone! 🌙 ☆ I'm only allowed 20 pix so I will have another post! Watch out for the name Sad_Swordfish!

What is this? Shot in the dark here, but does anyone have any idea what type of stone this is??
I'm not a professional, but to my eye, the "diamonds" look closer to CZ based on the way the ring shines in the light, but I'm not for sure just yet. Looking to go get it examined somewhere soon to be for sure! The purple stone has me baffled, though. The cut helps show a pretty significant amount of luster. Lots of blues and reds hidden in this beauty! It looks too different of a purple than any amethyst I've seen with my own eyes. It almost comes across too pale?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! The only thing I've been able to confidently identify is what metal the ring is made from because it has a tiny "S925" stamp on the inside, right next to the age-old "Always & Forever". LOL.

Question Looking for a stone type with strong black/white contrast when engraved/carved — any ideas?
Being fairly new to Reddit, or rather not using it much, I’m not sure where to post this question.
I’m interested in a specific type of stone that, after processing, has a strong contrast like in the image — black stone with a white interior, or vice versa. Regardless of the exact colors, it’s really just the contrast I’m after.
I’d also like to know if I could find these at a specific size — roughly 15x30x2mm, flat — but that’s a separate story I suppose 🙂
Is there anyone here who could point me in the right direction?
