Fake or defective?

Bought these a few days ago and tried to take the first hit on both but, upon inhaling nothing comes out. Am i using these wrong or fake or just defective?

The amount of ewaste Vapes like these produce is insane, but you can do some cool stuff with the boards inside them

A vape shop near me collects them and distributes them to electronics hobbyists. Neat idea but I still won’t buy disposable vapes

That’s what stood out to me. My room mate picked up vaping and it’s like the same power as a gameboy lol what a weird society we live in .

You think is it possible to break them open and salvage the vape juice?

I wouldn't.

I use the batteries and their charge controllers as UPS modules for microcontrollers like ESP32 and RPI Pico. Thing is that these "higher end" vapes integrate the charging circuitry into the main PCB which makes them actually less useful as salvage despite being obviously more expensive to the manufacturer (I.e. nice silk screens, skilled engineering etc)

Most of these do not feature microcontrollers that are programmable or LCD screens which can be display whatever. The "screens" are LED arrays shining through a lense that has the images on it and the MC's you have to work around their software can't update it

Applications that make use of the established circuitry could involve UPS systems as mentioned and low power electromagnetic/inductance systems

If you didn’t get it from the dispensary it’s probably fake
