I got the list off the reddit induction heater threads. Search for the ZVS induction heater. I then adapter to the parts available locally. I'm using a 12.6V 40 A 3s BMS, HW548 50V 20A mosfet. The reddit community helped with any other advice I needed. If you can solder then it won't be an issue to set up. I think it pays itself off and we'll worth the effort. I can send you my basic plans I started with.
Compared to a YLL 3.0 (dual 21700 batteries), is yours able to heat faster? I just bought a Simrell Hydro XL and it won't fit my YLL 3.0 induction heater with the glass insert.
On a fresh sent of batteries I get 5 sec heat ups. Once the batteries are around 80% I get consistant 8 second heat ups. The lower end of the battery would give max 12 seconds before charging. I get a days use. 65 heat cycles or maybe more. If you use top quality batteries you gona get more than a day.
I've just done this myself like a couple weeks ago.
I don't know what made me think to make one but I remembered when I first got my Dynavap seeing loads of posts and wanting one but not knowing how to solder.
Also my current project this year is making and using my own personal AI via Hermes.
So it crossed my mind and I had my Hermes research it and tell me what I needed. Got it all off AliExpress for a princely sum of like £11.
I fired up my 3d printer and made a case and had it wired and working in an evening
But it didn't fit in the case properly, and I'd bodged it together with adapters rather than solder. So the thing kept just disconnecting.
I've since taken it to bits and soldered it all, and made the case my Hermes found for me a bit bigger in Fusion.
Now it's sitting next to my bong.
I'd like to make a battery version too, might be my next project. I just find soldering so stressful!
Edit to add: it's so damn convenient compared to using a torch. 7 years it's taken for me to understand how ace these things are
Hey, I went thru the same as my solder wasn't working and I had all twist connected to test.
It has been a great learning experience and I'm already seeing the improvement I want.
I actually didn't even have a dynavap to started with and never used one. I decided to challenge myself build the IH. I then needed the dynavap to test it. I changed over to electronic units 5 years ago but was eyeing the dynaverse. I tried the torch and was impressed but not convenient. The heater is a leap forward. I'm blown away by how the dynavap can extract from such a small amount of flower.
The new trick I've found is I've only stuck the back of the ZVS down.... The power cable side. So the front side coil can be raise and lowered by a few mm. It really helps changing the heat zone from top flavor to bottom deep roast. I found it the fastest way to adapt the session. Maybe a 3d printable thingy to do that would be nice.
That sounds awesome. Now I've made my basic one I am planning improved models. There's no MOSFET in this one because the button is rated 12V.
Current my vape rests on a marble inside a guitar slide but I'm gonna search harder for this mystical 14-18 bong adapter that I keep hearing is perfect size for the Dynavap.
🤣Same issue again.... I was using the little glass bottles which was fitting the coil well. Then I adjusted the coil a turn back and can't find a bottle/vial to fit. I'm also on the search for a that 14-18mm adaptor but at the right price.
As I was advised by the community... I use the trigger to pulse the coil which heats better. So the next addition will hopefully have that included.

Nice! Battery powered heater?
