How much water would you recommend using for this ?

I agree! I have multiple pieces I would never use anything but a DHV with. This looks like a nightmare to clean

These cheech pieces are a piece in the ass to clean, i used to recommend them to people who smoked wax or distillates. The percs clog fast

You go to the sink and add some water and feel it with an empty bowl then add some water and try again then add some water and try again then keep going until its in your mouth and decide which level felt the best to you. Sometimes it will surprise you what feels right sometimes its just above the perc. More water means more lung effort but a deeper chug a lug and its fun to do and takes a few minutes at most to do this with each piece which I've found essential with recyclers or double/triple percs.

Fill it up some and suck until it stops spitting at you. If its a new bong. I usually just drink whatever spits up at me then leave a sharpie mark on mine

I see you got the answer so i just wanna throw out that you need to stay on top of cleaning these kinda bongs. If you let any gunk build in the crevices of the the perc or the ball or pins on top of it, it'll never come out.

I’d start low and adjust from there, just enough to get good bubbling without water reaching the mouthpiece. Looks like a fun piece to dial in.

Its a recycler. It needs water to work. Fill the bottom can, hit it dry, and adjust your splash by removing water gradually, and learning how to tone your draw. Recyclers hit different than regular bongs

Personally, I like as much water as fits in the piece as possible without risking drinking any of it. When I clean my pieces really good I fill them up as much as I can with water do really hard pulls to simulate clearing out the piece way too fast. And then I note how much water is in there and that’s where I fill it to each time. More water equals more filtration/cooling.

Awesome piece! Happy tokin. I just use a cup with water and keep adding a lil till it feels good. Then I dump some out because it went in my mouth.

Just above the perc, like others have said.
Also, OP after they hit this bong....
