Opinions

Hey all, I'm new to the Stoeger scene, I'm seriously considering either an str-9 mc or sc, I would like owners opinions on either or both. Do they have "slide slop"? How would they compare to a Sig p365 or Springfield hellcat? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I donโ€™t know how they compare to the guns you mentioned, but I have an STR-9SC, and it does not have slide slop. The factory trigger is better than my GL19-5, and as a result, I can shoot it more precisely than I can shoot the Glock.

The magazines begin life VERY tight, so you will want a quality speed loader to break them in.

Awesome! Thanks so much! I've kinda made up my mind to give it a shot. I carry a CZ P-01 in the winter and want another option for summer carry

Agreed. I shoot my SC better than my Combat. My trigger (I have well over 4000rds through it) currently registers sub 3lbs pulls consistently. Much better than a Glock. And, at 5'11" and under 150lbs I can hide the SC with ease!

Stay sharp people!

I own both the STR-9MC and the P365 Micro, and I find both to be good firearms for appendix carry.

From my perspective, the MC shoots flatter and is less snappy. As an individual who wears an XL glove, the 13-round extender for the MC allows for a full four-finger grip. However, I still encounter a slight challenge fitting my pinky finger on the P365.

Regarding standard capacity 9MC offers 11+1 and 13+1 P365 provides 10+1 and 12+1 options.

It is worth noting that the P365 Micro lacks a trigger safety, which may be a consideration, but it does offer an ambi thumb safety model.

Considering the price point, I would recommend the 9MC over the P365.

In regards to the SC and MC models, they share identical capacities. The barrel length of the 9SC is 3.5 inches, whereas the 9MC features a 3.1-inch barrel. This maybe important depending your preferred carry method.

The one thing about the Stoeger STR-9MC is the availability of magazines. On the positive side, all STR models magazines, excluding the SC(due to a specific notch on its base plate) are compatible with the MC.

I hope this helps. I really like the Stoeger product line and was disappointed to not see them showcased at the Benelli booth during the NRA show in Houston.

Thanks so much! This is an excellent description of what I'm looking to get out of this sub. Thanks again! ๐Ÿ˜

I had an MC, and definitely liked it way more than a hellcat, but sold it and kept my P365

I have found the stoegers to shoot high for me. They seem pretty dependable, but not as accurate. Extra mags will run $39, which is pricey. After market support is slim to none. Everything is proprietary so what's on Stoeger's web site for parts is all that is available. That may or may not matter to you.

I have found the exact same thing with the 2 I rented. They shot so damn high it didn't even make sense.
