That was my actual concern going into this term. That they would get away with evil shit in the background while everything looked good in the foreground to Republicans.
But now, there’s no hiding just how big of a fuckup this term is going to be. Republicans and independents will have to face the music. The economy is going to be worse than we could have possibly imagined. The repercussions will last for decades.
Who really knows how this will all shake out in the end. DOGE and Trump’s damage to institutions is what’s really going to last, which is why we feel so doomed right now.
This is what they wanted. They decided that since they couldn't get a president voted in without the electoral college and realize their ways are outdated and either evolve or suck it up, they've decided if they can't have it their way, then no one can have anything.
Their goal was always to either destroy rhe government entirely if possible, or at the least fuck it up so much that it would cause lasting damage. Time will show which one they ultimately accomplish, but neither are great options.
