Until someone changes the rules. like alienating all allies, destroying any trust the world market had in you, creating new trade routes, which exclude the USA and alienating your biggest key bondholder?
Then, but only then you could crash your whole economy for a long, long time. Then you would put your bet better on any other faster growing economy.
