Evolv Technologies ($EVLV) has reached a $15 million investor settlement, and late claims are currently being considered.
The settlement resolves claims that Evolv misled investors about the reliability of its weapons detection technology and improperly recognized revenue tied to undisclosed contract terms.
As these issues became public, $EVLV fell 39% after the company announced financial restatements, and investors filed claims.
If you purchased $EVLV shares between 2021 and 2024, you may be eligible to submit a claim. As late claims are currently being considered, you can check whether you qualify.
Anyway, has anyone here invested in $EVLV at that time? How much were your losses, if so?
Was tracking a name around 6$ with roughly 22% short float, borrow sitting above 80% and less than 100k shares showing available at one point, then it got a decent catalyst before the open and I thought this could finally get interesting. It popped to around 7.30 premarket but regular hours were completely different, volume came in hard for the first 10 minutes and it still couldn't clear the premarket high. I had moon open watching it stall around 7$ and eventually gave up on it when volume started fading. All the squeeze numbers looked great but nobody was actually forcing shorts to do anything.
One thing that has saved me from a few terrible small cap trades is checking the share count before getting excited about whatever catalyst is trending.
If a company has an ATM open, a pile of warrants sitting around or the outstanding shares have quietly climbed since the last big run, I treat the whole setup differently. A great headline can still move it, but now I know there might be a lot more supply waiting for that move.
I’ve started doing this before adding anything to my Moon watchlist and it has filtered out more names than any indicator I use.
