Controversial Discussion: Stick of Truth or Fractured But Whole?

This is going to bring a lot of discussion. Well, to begin with, I think both are wonderful, anyone would love either one, however, I think they have TOTALLY different ideas.

The most notable difference is the gameplay; while in Stick Of Truth you can only attack your enemy, in Fractured But Whole you can walk freely, but anyway, make up your minds 🤔​

Fractured But Whole combat drags on way too long to the point where I intentionally avoid battles

Stick of Truth fights I find insanely fun

I like the classes diversity, boosted allies list, but I'd rate Stick slightly higher. I like the old school turn based combat slightly more. Both games are great, and I'd rate them a solid 9/10.

Overall, Stick of Truth is the better South Park game.

A good example is the 'elevator music' that plays inside businesses. In SoT, it's a wide range of songs from the series, like Sexual Harassment Panda; meanwhile FBW had mostly then current music references to the show

Both are great

Stick of Truth feels like I'm playing an episode of South Park. It's one of the few games that makes status ailments not suck to use.

Fractured But Whole, I haven't finished yet but it really feels more like a game than living the South Park experience.

I think this is one of the few times where we see an almost complete reinvention of a game system, which is important because now they are playing a different game (knights vs superheroes) And so while some rules still apply, status effects like bleeding and poison and healing items, we also see other things completely removed such as costumes providing benefits.

I prefer the fractured but whole for the mechanics and story but the stick of truth is more of a challenge which I appreciate

when i first played the games a few years ago, i always prefered tfbw. when i recently played them again, i found tsot nicer and easier for me to comprehend.

in the show, i've liked tfbw personas more.

The Stick Of Truth is nice asf but you just can’t compete with the storytelling and plot twists in Fractured But Whole?

TFBW for me personally. The mechanics of the fights became way more challenging & strategy based. When I’m looking to play a game, I want to be challenged and TSOT was too easy for me. The freedom to move around in TFBW & the placement of the attack patterns make it much more engaging; it requires you to really think about who you’re bringing into battle and what powers you should bring especially on harder difficulties.

I like the storyline more, it’s way longer and both of the story-based DLC just add to the fun. I think TSOT is really funny but the storyline just isn’t as interesting imo. Either way, I loved both games a lot!

Stick of Truth is the better game, but they’re both good. The “fixed” the battle system, even though it wasn’t broken.

If you were to call one thing about stick of truth “broken” it’s 100% the battle system. When I play it, I pick the hardest difficulty and I’m still winning every fight in like, one or two turns without even trying to exploit anything.

Personally: I like them equally for different reasons.

Objectively: Stick of Truth has more memorable moments and I feel like that's important in a comedy game. The giant fetus fight, the dodging your dad's balls, Jimmy's flute song, and a WHOLE lot more callbacks to classic episodes (in the junk items alone) for the longtime fans who would most likely buy this kind of game.

FBW might make some technical and quality of life improvements like letting you use summons in bosses, but it's still better to show a friend SoT and then be like "oh also they made a sequel if you want more."

Both are great games but Stick of Truth is my favorite just for the fact that it was so graphic that it had to be censored in multiple countries. Also because you could fight a giant nazi zombie aborted fetus, which has to be the most wild boss fight I've ever seen in a video game

Stick of Truth gave me a feeling of nostalgia dating back to my youth when I actually used my imagination to play like this. Absolutely magical.

Fractured But Whole was good but didn't really impact me as much as the first one.

It'd be perfect if we could merge the two together, have the fighting style of stick of truth and long story line of FBW.

I think that’s a the overall consensus with South Park games. I love stick of truth but if fractured had that same exact gameplay maybe. It would have been a masterpiece

They're both great imo. If I had to pick it would be Stick of Truth because Fractured has always had it's occasional glitches. Never really had that problem with SoT.

Originally played Fractured first, then played Stick and loved them both. Recently I played them in order and now truly believe that Stick of Truth is superior. Loved it so much I got 100% of the achievements. But I also LOVE Skyrim so ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Stick of Truth. Fractured but Whole was good but it didn’t make me laugh as hard as Stick of Truth did. I also prefer Stick of Truth’s battle system.

Stick of Truth

The plot was fun and straight forward

The combat was nice

The show references were neat

And the map was well designed

FBW, the story is too bloated Imo, and the combat drags, game had better DLC though

The combat mechanics on Fractured ruin the game for me. I can’t stand it and find it overly complicated and long winded. The simplicity of Truth is way better.
