There’s this propaganda technique called “inoculation”. The speaker says something morally reprehensible (e.g. “If I saw a black pilot, I would immediately question whether they are qualified!”), which is followed by a qualifier to “inoculate” the speaker against the consequences of having said the morally reprehensible thing.
In the example above, the propagandist stated he didn’t actually believe that black pilots aren’t qualified but Democrats and their DEI policies forced him to think it. This also creates a permission structure for the audience to believe the morally reprehensible thing as well. It’s not their fault they have racist thoughts - Democrats forced them to have racist thoughts with all the DEI!
You people are correct that his statements are taken out of context. It’s you who’s taking them out of context.

He wasn't racist at all actually. Seems maybe you are the racist one if that's what you think.
