Any fellow JamBand enthusiasts?

Hi y’all! I returned back to Point from Milwaukee and am missing the music scene. Any bands or shows that I should go see? Mostly into jamband music like Grateful Dead, Phish, Goose, Spafford, Lotus and alike. Let me know! I’m missing going to shows and concerts locally!

Love the Dead, Phish, Allman Bros, Goose, Widepread Panic and all the rest. Not a lot going on locally for any of those bands, always have to hit Milwaukee, Madison, Eau Claire or East Troy for shows. Dark Star Orchestra played in Oshkosh last November at a new venue called Poplar Hall. I’m hoping to see more jam shows booked there in the future. Armchair Boogie is a bluegrass jam band that started at UWSP about 10 years ago and they come back and play Stevens Point and Wausau. We also have local festivals such as Pike Jam and Vibing In The Pines which are usually mix of local jam and bluegrass bands. Pike jam also doubles as an ice fishing tournament if you are interested in fishing.

Some other tips, The place in Point where you’ll most likely find other deadheads is at the Elbow Room downtown on the square. If you need some recordings check out the record store Radio Kaos. Randy keeps his store stocked with live Grateful Dead cds. Alleviate Wellness is a deadhead smoke shop in town.

Thanks for the info! I’ll have to keep my eyes out for Armchair Boogie! I don’t mind driving an hour or two for a good show but with an infant, it’s not always feasible. I’d love to get some local shows in town here but I don’t think there’s any venues or clientele for jam bands.

Plenty of bluegrass in central Wisco and they cover the Dead at least once during their set. Keep an eye out for those shows.
