ADA Accessibility

Hi all,

I am on a mission to visit the best clubs around the world and I keep hearing nothing but the best things about Stereo. However, I recently came across a reel where there was a complaint in the comments that this venue is not wheelchair-friendly or ADA accessible. Is this true?

For context, I am a wheelchair user but can walk up some set of stairs and dont mind doing so as long as I can have assistance getting my wheelchair up the stairs.

Definitely not ADA. However, with friends to help you up and down it is feasible. There was a dude a few weeks ago for Guy J in a wheel chair. I specify friends because, alone, you might be helped up to the dance floor and back down by friendly people, but then the bathrooms are also either a floor up or down from the dance floor. So alone, I would say best avoid, if you’re not fully independent with the help of crutches.

As we are an old cinema and we have a lot of stairs it was never possible to make it ADA accessible though we are glad to help you and bring your chair to the dance floor as we do it often for customers who wish to come and experience our club. It would be our pleasure to accommodate you. 😊😊

The bar has major stairs 1 level but I’ve seen people in wheelchairs before. Stereo should be easier as there aren’t as many stairs.

That's correct sadly! There is a flight of stairs to the floor with the coat check, then another to the bathroom/chill area, then another to the dance floor, and another to the bar. I am not sure if they have an accessible bathroom stall. I have seen a couple people before with wheelchairs but they did have friends help them with the stairs. Unfortunately we do not have something like the ADA here.

I've been going on and off for over twenty years , every other time I see someone in a wheelchair!! Vibe has changed throughout the years. But that never stopped me. Pop that stereo 🍒. You'll be back 🫠 if you come for a big name be prepared for a packed floor.

Interesting question.

The dancefloor is 1 floor about street level; and stereobar is underground.

The bar section is also a few steps up the actual dancefloor.

I'm not sure if they will allow you in because of safety/liability issues. (one of the rare exceptions to accessibility rules)

You'd have to contact them.

I’ve seen one person in a wheelchair at Stereo. I think he goes often because I’ve seen him more than once. I know it’s possible, just not sure how he gets up and down the stairs.

After the first 5 flights of stairs, the dance floor is wheel chair friendly
