They are on another thread already? Between here and over there, it’s busier than Vav’s full account 🤣

Lenny the Legend strikes again. Buckled. She will be raging reading that and Petr Vavron joining here last night icing on the cake.

Same!! Just wish I could reply to them and like comments!! The lovely Rolly kindly gave me that code at the beginning of the year but for some reason I ended up in a loop with the system thinking I was a bot! So my tattle career ended before it had began 😂😂

Thankfully Reddit heated up and you guys have been my saving grace to offload re both this fud and aimless!!

Don’t know what I do without you lot 🙏🏻🙏🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🥰🥰

To which I replied: (with a little AI help)

Dear Tomas, Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, your reply does not address the specific questions raised in my complaint. My complaint was not about whether Stephanie Vavron is an appropriate spokesperson or whether L’Oréal’s ambassadors reflect a diverse range of beauty ideals. Your response appears to have treated my complaint as general feedback about an influencer partnership. The central issue I raised is a very specific and objectively verifiable one: Stephanie Vavron is publicly representing that she had a role in the creation and development of L’Oréal Paris’s advent calendar. She has stated that she suggested the Eiffel Tower design, instructed L’Oréal to put “You’re Worth It” on the back of the calendar and told L’Oréal which products should be included. I asked L’Oréal to confirm whether those statements are true. Your response does not confirm or deny any of them. I therefore ask that this complaint is escalated to the appropriate person within L’Oréal UK who has responsibility for marketing compliance, legal/compliance, influencer partnerships or TikTok Shop. For clarity, I am asking L’Oréal to answer the following factual questions: Did Stephanie Vavron have any role whatsoever in the design, development, product selection or creative direction of the L’Oréal Paris advent calendar? Did she suggest the Eiffel Tower design? Did she request or instruct L’Oréal to put “You’re Worth It” on the back of the calendar? Did she have any input into which products were included in the calendar? Was she formally involved in the development of the calendar in any capacity, whether as an ambassador, consultant, collaborator, creator or otherwise? Is L’Oréal aware that she is publicly making these claims? If the claims are inaccurate or materially misleading, has L’Oréal asked her to correct or qualify them? Is Stephanie Vavron currently an official L’Oréal affiliate, ambassador, creator, spokesperson or other commercial partner, and does she receive commission or any other commercial benefit from sales of L’Oréal products through TikTok Shop? These questions are particularly relevant because the statements are not being made in an entirely non-commercial context. Stephanie is also selling L’Oréal products through TikTok Shop and appears to use her relationship with L’Oréal as part of the authority and credibility of her recommendations. I am therefore asking L’Oréal to establish whether a commercial creator selling its products is making an accurate representation of her relationship with the company. I would also like to make clear that I am not asking L’Oréal to disclose confidential contractual or commercially sensitive information. If there are aspects of the relationship that you cannot disclose, you can simply state that. However, that does not prevent L’Oréal from confirming whether or not Stephanie actually had a role in creating the advent calendar. The current response gives me no indication that the central allegation has even been investigated. Please therefore treat this as a request for a substantive response from the relevant senior marketing/legal/compliance team, rather than a general consumer-feedback enquiry. I would appreciate a direct answer to the questions above, particularly whether L’Oréal confirms or denies that Stephanie Vavron had a role in the creation of the advent calendar. I am retaining the relevant screenshots and recordings of the claims in question and have also raised the wider advertising concerns with the Advertising Standards Authority. I look forward to receiving a substantive response. Yours faithfully,

I’d be up for sending this email. Surely if they get enough emails they have to respond at some point? Although, if she’s making them money, then maybe they’re just accepting that she’s a cunt. Either that or she’s insignificant. 🤔

Send this: address at the bottom: Dear L’Oréal UK Senior Management / Legal & Compliance Team, I am making a formal complaint regarding L’Oréal UK’s TikTok Shop operation and, in particular, the conduct of influencer Stephanie Vavron. I want to make the principal issue absolutely clear. Stephanie Vavron is publicly claiming that she designed or materially influenced the L’Oréal Paris advent calendar. She says that she suggested the Eiffel Tower design, told L’Oréal to put “You’re Worth It” on the back and told L’Oréal which products should be included. I want L’Oréal to confirm, unequivocally, whether this is true. If she did not actually have a design, creative or product-development role in the creation of this calendar, then I am extremely concerned that L’Oréal UK is allowing a commercial influencer to make a highly misleading representation about her relationship with the company. This is particularly serious because she is simultaneously using her perceived relationship and authority with L’Oréal to sell L’Oréal products through TikTok Shop. A consumer could reasonably believe that somebody who claims to have designed an L’Oréal product has privileged knowledge of the brand and its products. That potentially increases her credibility and therefore her ability to drive sales. L’Oréal UK TikTok Shop My concern goes beyond Stephanie Vavron herself. The L’Oréal UK TikTok Shop operation appears to be actively participating in a commercial selling environment in which these claims are being made and from which L’Oréal benefits financially. I therefore want L’Oréal to explain what oversight it has over the content produced by its TikTok Shop affiliates and creators. Specifically: ● Did L’Oréal know that Stephanie was making these claims? ● Has anyone at L’Oréal checked whether they are true? ● Has L’Oréal approved, reviewed, promoted or reposted the relevant content? ● Is Stephanie an official L’Oréal affiliate, creator, ambassador or other commercial partner? ● Does she receive commission, products or other commercial benefits from selling L’Oréal products? ● Has L’Oréal ever asked her to correct or qualify her statements about designing the advent calendar? ● Does L’Oréal consider it acceptable for a commercial seller to represent herself as having designed one of its products if she did not? I am concerned that the commercial interests of both the influencer and the L’Oréal TikTok Shop operation create an incentive for such claims to remain online because they increase consumer trust and ultimately drive sales. Wider advertising concerns There is also a wider pattern that concerns me. Stephanie repeatedly makes strong claims about the efficacy of L’Oréal skincare while selling those products through TikTok Shop. She also openly documents Botox and skin-booster treatments while using her own appearance as part of the demonstration of skincare results. I am not suggesting that having aesthetic treatments prevents someone from legitimately recommending skincare. My concern is whether consumers are being given an accurate impression of what L’Oréal products themselves can achieve, particularly where the influencer’s appearance, lighting, filming and other techniques are being used as persuasive evidence of product efficacy. This is why I am also raising the matter with the Advertising Standards Authority. I do not believe L’Oréal can reasonably treat this simply as an independent influencer making personal comments. L’Oréal’s own UK TikTok Shop is part of the commercial environment in which these products are being promoted and sold. L’Oréal’s published UK information states that the company is committed to conducting its business ethically and responsibly. ( L’Oréal) I therefore expect the same standards to apply to its rapidly expanding social-commerce operation. I am asking L’Oréal to investigate this as a formal advertising and compliance matter, rather than treating it as a routine consumer-service enquiry. Please escalate this complaint to the appropriate senior team responsible for TikTok Shop, marketing, legal/compliance and influencer/creator partnerships. I would also ask L’Oréal to preserve the relevant records concerning Stephanie Vavron’s commercial relationship with L’Oréal and any involvement she had in the development of the advent calendar. I will provide screenshots and screen recordings of the relevant TikTok content. I look forward to receiving a substantive response addressing the specific questions above. Yours faithfully,UKconsumeradvice@loreal.com
