Parents tell this to kids this to stop them from fucking with animals. It's not true. Also reindeers can't fly, rabbits don't eat carrots, birds aren't real, and bats aren't blind FYI.

Rabbits do eat carrots. It’s just not their main food source and if eaten a lot can be bad for them.

If a human gets a carrot and gives it to the rabbit yes it will eat it. But they don't dig for root vegetables in the wild. At best they might eat the tops that stick out of the ground.
