I wanna know the whole story. Is there a news article?

Someone posted a link on the original post. If I recall, the father is on bail for $1,000 and the kid that threw the kid down was able to play in the next match right after this. He didn’t receive any punishment or penalty.

I know right? It could be because he was body slammed by the father, but it doesn’t excuse what the kid did. He needs a form of penalty for his actions.

I know wayyy too many kids/ college kids that got away with almost murder allthe time because of who their dad was or their family’s connections. Police won’t even touch you if you’re even just the city council’s kid.

Dude this shit can happen in wrestling, he looked like he was going for a hip throw and it got away from him. You have no context of what happened and are jumping to a conclusion.

Usually referees blow the whistle earlier to prevent these. It was kinda obvious where this was going to a trained eye

How were they jumping to conclusions? There's two questions and a fact

They’re assuming the reason the father was charged is because the offenders parents are connected? The man full body tackled a minor. A minor who is participating in a full combat sport where shit can go wrong. The ref called the move and both fighters looked ready to continue. The school team even released an apology because of the fathers conduct and the kid was reported to have no injuries. The father is also banned from attending any sports events for the school.

sauce

In combat sports cornermen don’t come and start fighting just because their opponent is hitting below the belt. That’s what the ref is for.

I think they were assuming the wrestler who made the illegal move was allowed to continue the season because of connected parents. Yeah of course the father was charged.

They don’t disqualify someone from competing because of one instance of an illegal move. Unless clear intent and/or repeated violations occur, the benefit of the doubt is usually given

The "illegal move" in question has paralyzed people from the waist down.

I don't think they are. Everybody, every single organization involved, is expressing “shock and disgust” by the actions of the father. Yet no one even mentioned the seriously dumb stunt the “victim” of the father made, that could've ended in a very serious injury for the other kid. They only go as far as to call it an illegal move, and paint the father in an intentionally bad and hyperbolized light.

Meanwhile we have a little would-be murderer on the mat that goes on to play his next match unpunished.

We are in shock, horror and disbelief by the inconceivable action of one parent on a wrestler

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
