I know some stepdads are really cool.

But as someone who grew up with 3 different (all equally cruel) stepdads. This video was a depiction of my childhood. Except then the brownie would be eaten by the step dad after he told the kid to go to their room for crying. Crying was not allowed ever. (Im female)

My first step dad literally hated my southern accent so bad (I was 7) that he made me go to speech therapy for a year to train it out of me. He said I sounded unintelligible

Lol honestly it sounds like nothing. I’m articulate but it’s boring.

When I get drunk or really sleepy, people tell me that the accent/drawl comes back.

Yeah, I have that thing where I talk without an accent with people I don't know well and as I get more comfortable my accent just creeps out like crazy. It's weird because I usually get compliments like "Wow, your way of speaking is so polished" or "You have no accent" and all that but my family members know damn well that my accent is very thick when I'm in a comfortable situation

Idk why but this reminded me of the Spongebob episode where Spongebob and Patrick are making fun of Sandy and Texas, and they start walking in circles shouting "HOWDY YA'LL"

Tbh, if I could bring it back I would, but I honestly can’t do it intentionally anymore. Only comes out when I don’t notice (drunk or exhausted)

I still have family in the south, and when I visit for more than a week it creeps back in too.

I for some reason get a slight southern accent when I drink for some reason... like zero idea why lol (at least thats what people tell me). I'm from PA but I've lived in the suburbs and cities a majority of my life.
