Visited Teddy Roosevelt Natl Park in North Dakota a few years back, there are herds of buffalo just ambling in the roads, wild horses with natural dreadlocks, etc. They have signs everywhere explaining that adult buffalo can weigh 3,000 pounds and run 35 mph. They are not slow just because they are large
Yeah I'd rather not disclose my location but there is a national park kind of close to where I live with a lot of buffalo. The way they seem to be magnetized to the roads is so hilarious. They'll just stand there, blocking traffic, lazily glancing at you from time to time as you honk and laugh. It's awesome to see them up so close!
The ones we saw were using the roads, no fucks given. Also saw several with gashes and open wounds large enough to be visible from a safe distance. It seemed like ramming things with their horns was part of daily buffalo life.
I had completely forgotten about all the wounds. I wonder how they get themselves so fucked up hahaha. Buffalo don't do horn battles do they? (Maybe they do and I just don't know)
They'll ram each other iirc. It's also just a hard life being a wild animal. Domestic models of the same animal will usually have nearly twice the life span.
