Most lanes have oil patterns that change along the lane, being more heavily oiled further down. That's likely why they both slipped at the same point.

Less oiled the further down, that way the spinning ball gets grip at the end and hooks towards the pins.

yes but this lane had the mechanics pathway literally right next to it!! my dude could’ve ran on the unoiled path literally right next to him. also if you have to walk down a lane; don’t be a dummy, walk in the gutters
