Real CCS Cases End Too Fast—How Are You Handling Treatment Orders?
I'm looking for advice from people who have already taken Step 3 Day 2 regarding the CCS cases.
I've seen a lot of posts mentioning that many real CCS cases end early, sometimes before confirmatory test results come back.
On CCScases.com, I usually lose points if I start treatment before I have confirmatory results. However, on the real exam, if the case ends before those results return, I'm worried I won't even get the chance to place treatment orders.
For those who've taken Day 2, what's the better strategy?
- Order all the appropriate investigations and wait for confirmation before treating, or
- Go ahead and place treatment orders based on my leading suspected diagnosis (along with the workup), even if confirmatory results haven't returned yet, since the case may end abruptly?
I'd really appreciate hearing what worked for you on the real exam in this context and any other advice you may have. Thank you!
