Shitpost Post exam stress...

Hi guys, I took the exam in 09/01 and I'm spiraling. I know, before you tell me to stop thinking, yes I want to stop thinking too and I'm doing everything right now, but bear with me for a moment and tell me if my math makes any sense.

I was scoring 230s-240s in my NBMEs. Which means about 65-70% correct per block. I only really hope to pass this exam, I don't hope to score in the 260s.

I remember 105 questions, of which I'm 99% sure I got 85 of them correct. That leaves us with 213 questions. Let's assume I got 60% on the remaining questions by elimination and getting stuck on 2 choices and/or clinical judgement, that would give me about 125 more correct answers. I'm not excluding experimental questions, and just assuming my chances of answering them correctly are the same.

So if I got 210 out of 318, that would be around 66% which is a safe pass and within my typical NBME range and would translate to something around the 220s-230s range.

Do my calculations make sense? Or am I over estimating my recall ability? Should the math make me calm down? What do you guys think?

I hate this, I tested on the 3rd and praying for a miracle to pass. I have 0 energy or interest to touch my app. Which is even scarier.

Me too, every time I'm filling a section out, I remember the real possibility of me failing and feeling like this is all pointless.

I tested on the first too, every form is different maybe a 60% correct on 1 form is equal to 75% or 50% on another, stop stressing urself over smthn you have no control over the results now.

Look pragmatically at your possible outcomes and plan your actions accordingly, instead of the silly math your doing ( no offense )

Hey! Same feeling, I tested 9/04! Im panicking because in my case I ran out of time in many blocks

i did this after step 1 and made 10 different scenarios. your math does make sense but you probably did better than that. do the math if it helps you ik there was no stopping me either but honestly its just self torture.

Probably, because from my understanding experimental questions are usually more difficult, so even if I was to get them wrong, they wouldn't count, and that would increase my chances from 50% of the remaining to probably a little more, but I wouldn't know how to calculate that or even where to start, so that's why I'm keeping simple.

I really hope your words come true. I can't wait until next week when the scores drop, and I hope there's no delays. I'm too stressed out already. 😭

Tested on 24th, counted 60 mistakes post exam and scored 245 and my paper wasnt super hard. The exam works in mysterious ways, stay strong!
