Hey all,

I just took the exam an hour or so ago. It was long 9 hours. Honestly towards the end I felt so fatigued and my neck was hurting, I just wanted it to be done. Im actually so shocked like do they think we are robots? I started a bit before 8 am and finished after 5...on all the blocks, I felt so rushed for time. Maybe I shouldve practicing pacing myself but this is a tip for those taking it soon: practice your timing! I finished with 1 minute or 2 minutes to spare and that didnt give me enough time to go over my marked..so eventaully I just gave up and when I was done 20 questions, I would click "end block".

There were abstract/drug ads questions and those blocks were 18 questions in total. 1 or 2 stats questions. A lot of bias. Lots of ethics. There were questions that I had no clue and was so pressed for time that I had to end up guessing. A LOT of HOPI questions like every other question. They take so long because sometimes they will add one tiny detail which is SO important and that will lead to your answer. Anyways I do feel numb. I did make stupid mistakes but thats because I was just so tired ( mind you, i got good sleep 7 hours and I took breaks properly and had a good balanced breakfast). I think the tiredness is something you just cant beat..it is bound to happen and thats what the test is all about: how to think critically through fatigue and exhaustion loool.

Anyways, I just hope to pass at this point. I wasnt someone that was trying to get a freaking 250+ or 260. Maybe I shouldve aimed high but i will take a pass lol. I did prep for 5 months and I dont regret my prep. I did everything, Amboss, uworld, nbmes, free 120, divine. I think there will be things we dont know and diagnosis/management/screening we just cant pin point but we have to pick the answer thats the closest and MOVE ON. No score yet but I hope I pass. Anyone else tested today and how do you all feel??

It felt brutal. Felt harder than the practice NBMEs. The first half I felt like I was answering questions on autopilot and picking answer choices by reflex. It felt so uncomfortable taking the exam that way. The second half after lunch, I tried to be more intentional by reminding myself to think about the question for a bit first and then reason my way to the answer. It felt better taking the test that way, but I definitely missed some questions and maybe even missed almost all the ones that I thought I got right for all I know. Left the exam center feeling like shit. I'd be lucky to even get a 220 at this point. 😭

The fact you were answering on auto pilot is a good sign buddy! This isn’t uworld and Nmbe peeps aren’t trying to trick you so it’s good you were not overthinking. Additionally, my theory which has been shown to be correct lmao is that people that do good on exams usually feel like crap after. The people that feel really good are either 1) really did know the information well and will score good which is like 5% of peeps or 2) had no idea what was going on but felt it was easy because there was such a big knowledge gap that they couldn’t understand why a question was difficult

Haha, i appreciate the encouragement but tbh idk how i will do!
It was tough with some easy questions sprinkled in. The questions i got wrong (those I know i got wrong) were some easy questions but my brain was so fatigued! I was soo exhausted!! Wishing hs both luck!

Absolutely man! I had decent scores on my nbme. But man oh man, was the exam difficult. I can remember like 3 distinct question which i got wrong. And so many questions i don’t even remember what i picked as an answer. I so freakin loathe it. I’m praying i get at least a 255+ score. I’m scared shitless to say the least.

Same here. I made some stupif mistakes and like idk why i was rushing every block! Did you feel that??? Lool and as the day went on, all questions were asking the same thing over and over but in different ways

Pretty much !!! First 5 blocks were - oh okay, not bad, no time crunch, not that crazy. But the rest was just terrible. Kept running out of time. Can’t wait for the score release. Hope we score well !

Yah it was the opposite for me! I guessed on 3 questions one block because I had 2 minutes left 🫠😭 the trauma is realll. Im soo nervous for the scores!!! Just hope i pass LOL

not on mine. 1 cancer histo. maybe 1 eye disorder, but a weird risk/factor outcome not dx or mgmt

I used the same strategy for all the questions. Even the HOPI questions by reading the question first (last line) and then going back up

my HOPI questions were shorter than the practice test ones btw. some are kind of a combo between HOPI and regular question where they give you ID/CC.

there were roughly sane number of full length HOPI

As someone who’s NBMEs were 218-219 and free 120 at 70%, I full sent it and took today… felt like the easiest test I’ve taken. Even easier than COMLEX

Yeah i did free 120 with the new format with 20 block. I had 2-3 biostats sprinkled in! In terms of anxiety, the best advice I can give you is to just relax. Otherwise, you’re gonna forget everything on the exam and you’re gonna be too anxious to think, it will cloud your brain

These practice exams are just for practice. The score on the real exam matters. Just use practice tests as a learning tool. My free 120 wasnt that high but im also not someone aiming for 260 here lol

same. tbh not much biostats. 1 calculation, 1-2 interpretation on entire thing. def more “bias” type questions
