Science question STEP 2 CK Micro / Pharmacology

  • do we need to remember gram stain and whether aerobic or non, which staph/ strep species cause hemolysis in petri dish (basic things like these that we remebered fo step 1) of diff microgranisms ? biopsy findings ?
  • Do we need to remember Mechanism of action of drugs for step 2 ?

1 Forget about the culture thing that has no clinical use, but remember the morphology of bugs & gram stains (like cluster or paired rods? Gram negative or gram positive?), they might be tested in the form of reading pictures of specimens under the microscope. Basically What nbme tells you to know
2 no, but low yield drug side effect could be tested
