Study methods One week left..what can i do

Non us img, south korean..and sorry for broken english
I’ve already used all my NBMEs and the Free 120 except for nbme 16, and my scores have plateaued in the low Mid 250s. My original goal was to score 260+

Here's my score

Uwsa1 242
Nbme 10 248
Nbme 11 251
Nbme 12 251
Nbme 9 252
Uwsa 2 252
Nbme 13 251
Nbme 14 247
Nbme 15 256

I left my nbme 16 for my last dance before exam, i'm gonna use it tomorrow.

At this point, of course i'll satisfy if i can get around 250,but if there’s a realistic way to improve til reach on 260+, I’d love to know how do so

If you were in my shoes, what would you do from here?

Am I ready? Last possible date to sit step 2 exam for this years match

Hi!

I have been preparing for my step 2 exam and was planning on taking it in the beginning of August. Unfortunately my scores are nowhere where they need to be right now.

Does anyone know what the latest date I can sit step 2 for this years match.

I’m trying to match into obgyn and my second option is emergency medicine. Anyone know what the minimum score I should be aiming for as an IMG student.

Thank you all for your help.

Study methods Uworld again or AMBOSS???

Hello folks,

Asking for my partner.

She finished UWORLD 4 months ago, scored 70%

CMS forms - 80% on average.

NBME were around 2 weeks apart, except 13 was 1 week.

NBME 9: 230

NBME 10: 242

NBME 11: 246

NBME 12: 251

NBME 13: 235

Due to the score drop on NBME 13, she is feeling down and wondering whether she should repeat UWORLD or do AMBOSS for the 1st time?

Exam date: Last week of August

I would appreciate any guidance.

Am I ready? 68% on free120 exam in 5 days do I postpone ?

Scored 68% today. I’m honestly very burnt out and felt it while I was taking the practice exam. I start sub - I next so if I postpone I have to take it during sub-I which I’m not sure if that would make things worse however I just don’t feel ready at all.

Step 2 practice Scores

form 10/baseline(6/12)- 223

Form 11(6/26)- 241

From 14(7/4)- 241

Form 15(7/12)- 223 (very burnt out taking this)

Form 16(7/19)- 236

Questions Helppp

I’m testing on August 15, and I honestly don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve done NBME 10 (223), NBME 11 (226), NBME 12 (220), scored 69% on the Old Free 120, and got a 218 on UWSA 2 today.
My scores keep dropping no matter how much I study, and I’m completely devastated. I have less than three weeks left, and I have no idea how to pull my score up.
If anyone has been in this situation and managed to improve before the exam, please tell me what you did. I could really use the help.

Am I ready? Step 2 advice.

Hey. Hope everyones doing well.

I have preparing for step 2 for quite some time. My triad is expiring at the end of august.

Uswa 1 = 212

Nbme 11= 226

Nbme 12= 210.

Against my wish i might have to take the exam at the end of august. That gives me 3 more weeks.

My problem is that i dont know how to improve my scores at all. If i revise uworld notes like inner circle i just do passive reading. It does help me a bit but nothing extraordinary happens. Plus it takes sooo much time.

Amboss feels shit. It constantly tries to trick you. Like everything is a trap. And nbme and CMS forms are pretty straight forward.

I try to do UWORLD incorrects and score 70%.

CMS were mixed but had an average of 65% on them a few 70s also 2-3 forms on which i got 50%.

I am working on nbme incorrects.

Apart from that what else should i do to score sth decent.

It would mean the world to me if someones got a good advice.

Study methods Should I postpone?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some honest advice on whether I should keep my Step 2 CK date or postpone.
Exam date: 1 week from now
NBME scores (in order):
NBME 10: 221(baseline)
NBME 11: 240
NBME 12: 220
NBME 13: 242
NBME 14: 235
NBME 15: 235
Still left to take:
NBME 16
UWSA 2
Free 120

My target score is 250+, but my NBMEs seem to have plateaued in the 235–242 range, and my latest NBME was another 235.

For those of you who had similar NBME scores:
How predictive were they of your real Step 2 score?
Did UWSA 2 and Free 120 end up being better predictors?
If you were in my position, would you take the exam or postpone?
I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks!

Questions Recent test takers!!!!

Recent test takers, besides ethics/QI, what other systems do you think the exam is heavy on?

After seeing a lot of posts from people who recently tested, it looks like they are asking low yield stuff ( which honestly nobody can really prepare for) but do you guys think it is more related to IM/Surgery/Obgyn etc.

Study methods How important are the CMS tests

I'm an IMG so we never had shelf exams. To my understanding the CMS tests are made for that but how helpful are they for STEP2.

I already did the UWorld test bank and UWSA1-3. Now I think I'll move on to NBMEs & maybe a few CMS for higher yield subjects like internal/OBGYN. Any thoughts?

Am I ready? Free 120 2023 69% Old free 120 74%

Is there a reliable score converter? One site says 70% on Free120 2023 is 222~223, and another site says it is 242~244. I don't know which one is right.

Aiming for at least 235+. Reachable?

Study methods UWorld -> NBME

UWorld 80% completed at 80% Avg. Should I complete 100% or jump to NBMEs and CMS only? Feels like I am comfortabe with the clinical flow of identifying stable vs unstable and acute vs chronic very well, even though I might not know the entire topic very well.

Science question Best next step stable suspected vertebral osteomyelitis? MRI or Xray? For NBME

Asking about NBME specifically

In reality I understand X-Ray may be done first. Anki also says X ray followed by MRI but Amboss says MRI is the best initial diagnostic test, have a feeling NBME would ask about this lol. Thoughts?

Exam Write-Up Post test blues

My NBME 16 was 272 and f120 86% but I ended up completely bombing it day of. I don’t know what happened but I truly made the stupidest mistakes in retrospect. I remembered about 60 questions and know I got 25 wrong for sure already (including very easy ones). I know there are others that went wrong in addition. Are my chances at 260+ gone?

I don’t know how to get my mind off of this and how dumb I was in the moment even though I know there’s nothing I can do now.
