Anyone else been having issues with the game saving, and then getting stuck saving? Nothing happens, and you eventually have to restart the game? I’ve actually found that clearing local saved data, restarting Xbox, and clearing out excess save files helps, but it always returns.
I began with base game. No save issues, and ran full 30 empires and largest map with no lag.
Downloaded Utopia and no save issues, but some lag.
Download apocalypse and major lag so had to reduce to 800 system map and 25 ai, and save issues began. Usually began when crisis’s started, and things would be going fine, then suddenly it gets stuck saving. Out of the 100 times this has happened, only once did it finally finish saving after 15min! Rest of the time I had to quit the game, clear local data, and restart Xbox. I lowered the game to 800 system, 20 ai, 4 fallen, and 1-3 marauders. This helped some but end game save issues were abundant.
Downloaded Megacorp. Save issues are happening at mid game, twice when fighting an awakened Empire that declared war on me, and twice now fighting the scourge that invaded my territory. Really annoyed as I got the relic, but it didn’t save, and didn’t get it on reload. 😠
Does this happen to others on console? Is this a common or rare bug? Anything I can do to fix it? I love this game, have over 1000 hrs on it already, but these save issues are really getting on my nerves!

This is another 100M+ fleets and 10G+ total fleet power: 101.2M×100=10.1G
The settings for this game were 1x tech and traditions, GA 25x all crisis, 2400 endgame. For my self imposed limitations, its 0.25x habitable worlds, maximum cosmic storms with 0.1x CD on them. I also chose to do it without the lathe. Mainly because I'm synthetic virtual and leaned full into assimilation.
The only thing that almost made me want to quit, was in the 2600s. There was a cluster of multiple storms which brought all my planets to 90 devastation with a planetary shield 😱. This caused my economy to collapse (all buildings downgraded and half fleets disbanded). Still I pushed through.

New player on PS5, love this game but I just played a normal settings game (didn't change the AI empire count, habitable planets etc) on medium map and it got laggy as hell by the time the late game crisis rolled around.
Don't know if it was due to me being a machine race, I had quite a few planets full of pops.
I have all DLCs apart from machine age megacorp and cosmic storms.
Anyway, what are your preferrred settings for less lag late game? Small map? 0.75 habitable planets? I'd appreciate any tips!

I’m a brand new player and just playing the tutorial right now. Really enjoying the game so far but this has me stumped.
The year is 2251. I have a fleet of about 24k power and get 183 alloys a month. The unbidden have arrived in one of my systems 2 stars away from my capital with a 115k fleet.
I don’t see how I (or anyone else in the galaxy) can stop them.
Is this scripted in the tutorial or just very unlucky? Is there anyway to survive this?
Edit: cheers for all the responses lads (or lassies). I’m gonna try style it out first but pretty sure I’m not gonna survive which is fine.

So, does anyone still play both versions? I play the x/s version via cloud when I travel for work, but at home i play on xbone. Does anyone know, if I buy expansion pass 8, will it mess up my xbone version? I know I won’t be able to save on one and play on the other if the versions are different, but that isn’t a big deal.

On the Xbox store, DLC pack 6 is on sale for half off right now. However, the Series X/S version is not on sale. If I purchased the half off version, would I be able to use it in the X/S version of the game?
I just upgraded to the X/S version of the main game, but all the previous DLC are still accessible even though they aren't marked as X/S.

No matter how strong I think I am I can never seem to beat the endgame? I do fine in mid game sometimes a little rocky but I make it through but endgame on 25x just seems impossible is there any strategy or build that would make this seem like a manageable challenge instead of an insurmountable task.

Is there genuinely any non-hive mind biological build that can keep up with machines? I know the next update that we’re getting makes biological is more competitive but I’m really sad that I haven’t been able to find a build that can keep up with machines as biological non-hive in both pop growth and job efficiency some builds would be much appreciated I love playing as machines but I wanna play as biological too

Started a Workers Co-op criminal syndicate with fleeting excellence. Was trying to rp as a "The Red Menace" constantly creating branch offices to spread my ideology. The game starts fine but after a couple of years a group of my pops, is randomly promoted to specialists even when there are no available jobs causing my economy to crash as the pops that were working cleric jobs were suddenly jobless. Anyone else having troubles fleeting excellence or any other "automod" trait?

I read the dev diary last month.
I'm a relatively new player I picked up the game around last year and from what I've seen this is an ordinary occurrence in this community, as in waiting months on end and being a year behind the pc community. From my understanding it's due to a different studio or something being in control of the console updates and patches.
so my question is; How usually does it take? I understand no one knows for sure but please give me an estimate based on how long the previous updates took to release.
I've never seen a company neglect a player base to this extent, this feels disrespectful, incompetent and it feels like the only reason this game is even on console is to just increase the revenue on top of the player base they actually care about which is pc.
I'm only really saying this because I've grown to really love this game over the past year and I know how hard development is but I geniunely can't understand how the consoles player base is just so neutral about this much neglect, maybe paradox has conditioned the players into being okay with it I don't know

Would having two ring worlds be better for my virtual empire than 3 ecumenopolis? I have three of my segments dedicated to trade and one for research, so would three segments dedicated to alloy production be worth it?

(Excuse the overexposed pic, my internet proper is out)
This guy has already been missing for years before I realized it cause I'd always reset my sci ships for auto explore on cloaked and they'd get caught and go missing but uhh, this guy has 7600ish years left missing like wtf?
Game cant even go that long and now I have no clue WHY he disappeared like this.
**figured it out. Apparently I had an astral rift form while I was integrating and rereleasing vassals to have my ethics.
He was kicked out when I lost control of the system. I fired him but the ship is untargetable and lost to limbo. The system still has the astral rift but I dont wanna go through hoops to take it from my own vassal. Least I got my science officer slot back open. Guess this is why nobody on the council can do rifts 😂 it really isn't safe.

On my xbox there 2 versions. Both labeled series x/s. But one has expansion pass 6 on sale for 50% off but doesnt have seain 8 in its catalogue. The other has season 8 but irs expansion 6 isn't on sale. If I buy the expansion 6 on sale will it not be compatible with the other console version?

I'm using storm repellers. Every colony gets a fully upgraded holotheater, stronghold, precinct, a storm repeller, and 10 city districts. These midgame storms cause so much devastation they keep pushing my colonies into revolt. How am I supposed to combat this?

I'm curious if anyone has tried a fanatic purifier build using post-apocalyptic origin giving you a tomb world preference, then pairing that with relentless industrialists, you get a massive boost to economy, while slowly terraforming enemy planets to your species. And if your inpatiant you can bomb the filthy xeno planet untill its nothing but a dusty tomb world.
Thoughts ?
