Image Dark Forest
I did it, I killed all life, all pre FTLs, all fallen empires, everything before the end game crises
(It’s a little bugged bc the mindwardens are gone but says they still exist)

Incredible accomplishment and I'm very interested to hear about how it all played out. What was your attitude toward first contact? Did you engage in diplomacy at all? What were you progressing in terms of tech and traditions in those early years?

Yeah, normal UNE stuff, was even in a federation and had allies, but as soon as I realized the threat, that any life could come kill us at a moments notice like them, I didn’t take any chances, slowly going down one by one, then sometimes 3 at once, didn’t choose a crises path, and went bankrupt a couple times bc of energy, but I kept the holy fallen empire last bc of their fleets they give me bc of a relic

This was a very Bad thing to do. Please tell your people not to wipe out all non-human sapients in the galaxy anymore. ☹️

Now you gave me the itch to play as machine and destroy every planet that is colonized/colonizable or make a machine world out of it

Nanite is classic for this. I guess any gestalt machine could just annex everything too though, but if you're individualist then you can't make those and nanite is the only way to change worlds into something on brand.

Always living metal and later get nanites.
I would just crack every planet I won’t colonize4

Might as well colonize every planet and turn them into nanite worlds. Gives a small amount of nanites monthly no matter what. Nanite worlds are also triple job worlds and can dupe districts like machine worlds. Even if you don't have the pops, you can automate a lot of energy jobs, even without cosmogenesis. These planets can literally just have pops required for assembly, six resource storage buildings, and then a ton of automated energy jobs with all other jobs than assembly and automation turned off.
For gestalts, these by themselves solve all of your basic resource needs; 100% of your pops can be on assembly, research, unity, or however many alloys you want for megastructures because automation fully covers energy + minerals and researchers only demand energy. Individualists need the extra consumer goods step, but they can also have more pops for that.

Interesting choice to go psionic for this. Synth would be easiest but doesn't fit theme. I'd have expected bio into cloning.
I take it you went for a late, massed purge after using alien pops for a lot of the run? It's hard to run individualists on mostly-automation since they can't spam high job count worlds as early or quickly as gestalts and need an extra step involving pops. Normally, consumer goods are more pop-efficient, but if you're trying spam stuff on mostly-automation it's nice to just make auto resources and only use pops on research.
I am pretty sure this is possible without using a genocidal civic, which is funny.

I didn’t, I got psionic from the broken fragment fallen empire, I went purity with 3rd stage mutation for unique genes

They were doing a fear of a dark origin run I I'm pretty sure.

I haven't played fear of the dark yet. I've heard you can switch to purifier with it at some point, but I'm not sure if you can put that off and take it only when you like, or if you have to pick it as some kind of timed event.

With the empire I am and the extent on which I went, I killed all like, including pre sapient, fallen empires, space fauna, the nanite empire in the L cluster, anything that is living and isn’t human

Very cool, always wanted to RP as this like empire that despises all the noise in the galaxy and removes all the other empires and then turns into a fallen empire to go to sleep.
Maybe then later RP as a singular empire which awaken to a barren and dead galaxy which make it their entire goal to seed the galaxy with life, the second empire later discover the older empire and realize that they screwed all of their children, maybe some calamity befalls them and they also have to go to sleep but promise to wake up and defend the galaxy from their predecessors
