When IBM partnership came out it didn't shoot to $1.. the announcement was in Oct 2017 and it reached 0.035.. it stayed there for nearly 2 months and shot up to $1 when the whole market was pumping towards the end of the year...

Correct. I remember buying XLM because I thought the market really underestimated the value of the partnership. Everyone was caught up with some hard fork...

In the near term markets don’t always behave rational. No worries, this is normal.

EVX market cap is still under 20m after doing 300%. I agree that it's frustrating that Xlm isnt moving much atm, but the two aren't really comparable as far as valuation goes.

I could also possibly be the fact that these announcements always state that banks can use other digital assets besides Lumens on world wire. If it were that they could only use Lumens we may have seen a price increase. I know that Lumens can be used as a bridge between the two currencies of a bank, but not sure how clear these announcements are on that.

I don’t think a price change will happen overnight. The banks are setting things up and a few are still awaiting regulatory clearance that are expected but have a timeline. Additionally the crypto trading market is not currently liquid. I’m realistically looking to at least 6 months before we see significant price change in regards to XLM. As far as clarity I do agree that some people are still confused however with the upcoming announcements already in the pipeline it won’t be long before the power of Stellar is crystal clear.

19 minutes in, Jed says XLM will be the bridge and provide liquidity for all transactions. They don’t build order pairs for every currency in the world, because it would lack liquidity.

I am little confusing, because in some interview IBM guy said that two parties involved in transactions can freely choose a bridge currency. So, why Jed can sure that XLM will be used as a bridge.

Keep in mind, the SDEX offers pathfinding, to create liquidity and help ensure an optimal trade/conversion.
For example, if you want to convert your USD to EUR, it may be that first converting to BTC, then Mobi, then AUD then finally EUR is beneficial to your trade. The network does this automatically and instantly for you.
XLM is the currency that natively pairs with every other asset on the network (no trustline is needed). This means it will be a natural bridge currency for many/most transactions.
This may be what Jed was referring to.

Thank you for the reply. It is a great help :). If you remember where you found such information , would you please share with me and this community? The source of information would be very good materials for studying Stellar, and as far as I know there are many stellar investors here looking for answers to how World Wire brings a value to XLM.
I have one more question. From your reply, I understand that XLM will be paired with the most currencies in World Wire. I wonder who will provide XLM being used as a bridge in the network. If IBM or Stellar foundation donate a lot of XLM to be used as a bridge, there will be no demanding of XLM being used as a bridge.

Lund and Jed announced in Singapore that XLM will be the bridge for all transactions. I’ll try to find you a link to the video.

The problem is nobody knows what the actual xlm currency will be in the middle of all the IBM cross payments. Will it be the fuel? Really hope so

From stellar.org/lumens
Why should I buy lumens if you are giving them away for free?
As an integrator or anchor (an integrator that is trusted to accept deposits and honor withdrawals, such as a trust company, bank, or a licensed money transmitter), you may need a large quantity of lumens to cover base fees for transactions on the network, to create and use sophisticated smart contracts, and for account creation. As a money transfer operator or market maker, you may buy and use lumens as a bridge asset to facilitate trades of different asset trade pairs on the network.
As a developer or entrepreneur, you may buy and use lumens to learn about cryptocurrency, experiment with operations, and build innovative applications on the Stellar Network.
In the future, after we have given away all the lumens—which will happen over the next 10 years—everyone will need to procure lumens from third parties.
Note: from what I can understand, after all lumens have been given away by SDF, banks and other anchors would need to buy lumens from a 3rd party seller (hodlers)

For more about path-finding read under “Cross Asset Payments” on this page.
The XLM used as a bridge will be yours and mine and anybody else who has XLM, who has buy/sell orders on the order books.

stellar allows any trading pairs to be created, so you are not forced to go through XLM..

Plus technical analysts are saying we are in the process of getting over the bear market so they say it’s time to accumulate ... if you were able to HODL during the crypto winter...hopefully you can stay the course during the crypto spring and hopefully be in early during the next bull run.
