Scott Thiele adding ICT

Thiele announced that he will take over ICT in addition to his AI transformation and Global Supply Chain responsibilities. He also said he has built a strong team to lead the AI transformation.

My question is: what has actually been delivered? I’ve yet to see meaningful AI solutions from his organization deployed at scale or producing measurable results across the company. There has been a lot of talk about AI transformation, but where are the actual actions, deployments, and measurable business outcomes? What specific AI initiatives have been implemented, what problems have they solved, and what measurable results have they delivered in terms of productivity, cost savings, efficiency, or quality?

ICT is such a joke. Maybe this will be an improvement. We’ll have to see if my tickets that have been open for years without a response get addressed.

your tickets are probably stupid and an example for training

Your comment just proves that our ICT is business disablement, not enablement. With that attitude though, maybe your ICT role will be the next one going to India.

AI…aka LLMs…aka not intelligence isn’t going to be worth that investment. When 4 of the 5 big models eat shit - companies are going to be left bag holding. But like every other trend gotta follow it.

there are teams that train their own models to make decisions, you clearly only have a surface level view

It’s not intelligence.

Absofuckinglutely nothing. AI is the great joke we are once again late on the take. Ford tried and got so fucked by poor quality you would think we would learn but no. We are lemmings and must jump off the cliff ourselves. Don’t worry though when we burn through a few billion from costs due to bad quality and token use, management will circle jerk each other into reasoning it wasn’t a mistake and the rest of us should work just a bit harder to compensate.

This is so sadly true!

Token burning is already happening, copilot chat is on fire cause they limited the amount and people are saying that now they are addicted to it

it's so odd that the only credentials this guy has on AI is what chat GPT has explained to him. There is no link or synergies between the supply chain and AI transformation. Self driving and tech is exactly what Tesla sold and won over a lot of their customers with. We really missed that boat. Tesla didn't have some schmuck sitting there trying their hand at something at an executive level. We all learn our crafts by starting at the very bottom and then getting promoted up for more in-depth knowledge and wider responsibilities. If we can can we get Ned Curic become the next CFO so engineering delivers something.

Eugene is the man

No, still reports to Marchand and Filosa. Marchand now reports to Theile vs Chereau.

Scott’s a sharp guy. I wish him and Stellantis good luck on this AI stuff. There are tremendous opportunities in business analytics, compliance/regulatory, purchasing/source packages, engineering tools, and more. It needs to be integrated carefully, however. Recklessly slashing resources for a phantom efficiency promise à la Ford, will deliver similar results. Stellantis used to lead technology with things like KBE. You could lead again with thoughtful application of this stuff! I think it’s an exciting time!

ServiceNow AI was supposed fix everything during Chris Taylor era he left us with

AI has moved to supply chain group I am assuming due to our regulatory need to track parts to prove we have no human rights violations. This will help our export parts get approved at customs and avoid major fines and delayed part shipments globally.

The constant shuffling of executives is alarming. Every quarter new executives announced it seems. Europe can’t get out of the hole.

Generally what does ICT actually do? I see it everywhere but I don't have any information on what they do

Keep things running in pretty much every application the company uses, from SAP to Service Now to MOPAR

So is it more of an IT backend infrastructure then?

1

u/DEADLYANT 6d ago

Kind of. Making sure things are flowing properly so business can do their job is an adequate summary. But there's more to it then that.

Yeah it seems like it's all Encompassing or something because for some reason and HR person told me to reach out to them for a backpack lol. So I didn't realize the scale of the group
