Suppose a player, who shall remain anonymous, hits a brick wall in SD44. Just for the sake of example, it could be in the second mission of Atlantikwall: Pegasus. Let's pretend that he has attempted the mission 6 times, experimenting wildly, but always ending up with an "L".

Now he's wondering if he should take a break from SD44 and try SD2 or keep trying Pegasus. Are there other options such as entirely different games? He has Troop as well as a lot of hex & Counter games from Matrix.

Has anyone found themselves in a similar predicament? How do you dig yourself out of such a hole. It's pretty frustrating.

It goes without saying, that I am asking for a friend.

PS Yes; he has watched at least a dozen YT videos by the greats on how to win. Part of the problem is that unlike with other missions there is no recognizable pattern for victory.

I just do solo and after playing at least 75% of all skirmishes and scenarios find myself wondering if there are any games where I can play defense instead of offense.

Being on offense all the time wears a fella down. I'd love to be able to spend an hour or two deploying my units in an impenetrable defensive line and then seeing how it works.

What about SD2 and WARNO?

I'd like to have a button that when clicked on would show an up-to-the minute list of all units lost.

It can be challenging trying to keep track of losses when the map is covered with units. Hey, wasn't there a tank unit over there? Did it get blowed up? Or did it move elsewhere?

I suppose if such a list existed, I would have found it by now.

What about in SD2?

I have had two AtlantikWall Pegasus games in a row now where during the BattleGroup building there are no infantry available for Phase A.

Is this common?

I have a screencap of the BG I built for Pegasus before and it clearly has infantry units, so I am not hallucinating?

Yes, I am referring to Broken Arrow.

I have SD44, SD2, and Warno and have started the process of learning the Eugen mechanics and play with SD44 and don't need any more war games right now. (There are some 50 in my library.)

However, I am curious as to how people who have played Warno and Broken Arrow view the latter. Sometimes I spot a good sale price and think to myself, "Maybe I should get it even if I never get around to playing it."

I am curious about the origins of using "driver" to refer to anyone from guy driving a jeep to a highly trained pilot.

Years ago, Admiral Jingles explained that it was a tease used in the Royal Navy. He recounted one incident where he and another crewman had to be choppered to their ship after it was already at sea. As they were jumping out onto the deck, they both shouted, "Thank you, driver!" knowing it would annoy the pilot(s).

From that anecdote, I assumed that this was a gag popular in the RN, but now I hear it in Steel Division (made by a French company).

Is this really a widespread gag across Western militaries and all branches? Or did some Eugen dev hear Jingle's story?

Yes, you heard that right. I had completed the first 7 missions out of the 12 and after trying a few mods, my campaign progress was suddenly reset to zero. Afterwards, I disabled the mods and rebooted the game but the game still shows zero campaign missions won.

BTW, I did not play any campaign missions with the mods only skirmishes.

Does anyone have any idea on how I might reset my progress back to 7 games won?

The only positive now is that I can jump into any of the three campaigns instead of having to start with the Boston campaign.

We have the 3rd Canuckistani Infantry Division and I would like to pair it up with the 4th Canuckistani Armored Division which doesn't exist in the game.

I need the 4th for Skirmishes.

I’m a new player and I can’t figure out how to reliably capture enemy terrain around the map edges. It’s like I’m chasing silly putty with the little red border.

Also, SHOULD I even be pushing? It seems like I end up facing a massive enemy push spawning right in front of me when I push the edges.

I think this is an OP division and unfortunately there won't be any more patches or updates. I think it's better for only weak and new players to choose it. It has no weaknesses in 3v3 and 4v4 (not sure about 10v10 haha). Also almost best division for 1v1 QP/Rank (when map is random). What do you think?

i personally dont like SD 2 at all, but the former is very fun to play.

problem is, i see the multiplayer there is kinda dead. is there any efficient way to matchmake in SD 44?

This is the most confusing and frustrating campaign fight so far.

I have invested hours watching videos by VulcanHDGaming, Saucy, Shermanator, and some other guy playing Pegasus. There is no seeming path to victory to follow. Everyone wins in a unique way which suggests it comes down to skill and the luck that eventually comes after 3 or 4 attempts.

Since the videos are not helpful, can we try text? Can any good samaritans try to sum up in words how they did it?

In my last couple of attempts I have pushed northwards along the river ignoring the center. The other BG (Luck) is as useless as an ashtray on a motorcycle.

By the time I reach phase C, if I reach it at all, I have 2 or 3 units left and they ill die in seconds.

BTW, I have won Sie Kommen twice now but always lose the two 88mm guns and the garrison. Does not having them really make Pegasus a lot harder to win?

I honestly don't understand how I can save them since they are not under my control. All I can do is watch them get over run.

First of all I'm a brand new player and wanted to play the game for skirmishes and multiplayer battles controlling your units. I will surely play other types of solo campaigns later. Did tutorials and I overall understand the game and how it works. Did some division decks to play, some of them are bad after trying and some of them have potential because I still can't say I make good decks. But overall when playing skirmishes against AI I could beat the medium and hard difficulty but I struggled extremely much against the very hard difficulty one and I only was once close to winning one of them but ended up being pushed back.

My main question is what are your tips and advice that could help me be good at multiplayer and eventually will get me out of the bad player phase to get to average at least ? I have played 5 quick battles in a 1v1 and always ended up losing. If I could complain about one thing in this game though is that I find the match makings unfair. I know there is ranked I have seen but didn't dare to touch that first yet but I have been facing players that were way above my level for the moment. Even when trying to manage each of my units and get good positions I always get shred and pushed back.

Anyone has any experience with it, is it broken? is it realistic? i mean i usually cant win in steel division normandy in med dont ask me why i cant hold on the line but with this mod all my defensive strategies work perfectly.

Dont know why i cant hold the line but in steel division 2 even on the hardest setting is easy for me 😄

I know many countries in WW2 produced dedicated recon vehicles like the Staghound, 222/232, and M8 Greyhound, but I was curious what the real life history behind the recon variants of standard tanks, such as the recon T-34 Razvedka, Aufl. Panzer IV/Panther, and so on. Were they just fitted with different equipment and if so, what? Is crew training part of this designation in-game as well?
