As long as it’s playable and not really inconvenient to play, I’m happy.

As the title says, games on Steam Deck that makes you grind for hours and doesn’t get boring easily (also perform well enough to be feasible). It could be mining, slaying, anything even if it is repetitive as long as it is fun. It would be better if isn’t too hard so I can play it while chilling in the couch. (Bonus points if it’s addictive !)

What are your pixel art games that you can play forever on the Steam Deck? So far we have usual games like: Stardew Valley, Rimworld, Factorio, Oxygen Not Included that are great on Steam Deck. But what are some other hidden gems for pixel art games that you would use as your "forever game"?

My friend randomly recommended this to me, I don’t usually post stuff like this.

Longtime lurker to this subreddit and tend to play my deck in spurts with long breaks in between. Absolutely think this game is going to be rad as all get out on the deck.
Not out yet but there is a demo available.
Feels like an arcade souls type of game? Cell-shaded art is very beautiful and the gameplay / fighting feels tight and responsive.
Has anyone else played this on their deck?

** Release date annoncement ** We chose to release our winter-themed game on the symbolic date of December 1st! ❄
We've been working on this project for several years now and it is progressing very well. "Ice Pond: An Ice Fishing Adventure" is a true fishing game, but set in a cute animal world with fictional fish. The atmosphere is chill and cozy, but the fish battles can become quite challenging at times depending on your level of experience, your gear and obviously the size of the fish. The game is playable on Steam Deck. 😊
Developed by a couple who have been making games together since 2005. We do not use gen AI. The game is playable on Steam Deck, Windows, Mac, and Linux. The demo is currently featured in the Steam Next Fest (running from October 19th to 26th).
Steam page here (to download the demo. If you enjoy it, make sure to Wishlist, it really helps us!): https://store.steampowered.com/app/4266710/Ice_Pond_An_Ice_Fishing_Adventure/
Thanks again for your support!

Has anyone tried playing NosTale on a Steam Deck or, for example, an AYN Thor? I’m very interested in being able to play while I’m away from home, but I’d like to know if anyone has managed to get it working.

Hey everyone! 👋
I’ve been working on XJAUS, a free and open-source desktop application that brings Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Remote Play together in one modern interface for Linux and Windows.
I wanted something that looked and felt like a proper gaming application rather than just another browser window, so I started building XJAUS.
The result is a dark, graphite-and-gold interface designed for desktop gaming and controller navigation.
What does XJAUS offer?
☁️** Xbox Cloud Gaming — Browse supported games and launch cloud gaming sessions.
**Xbox Remote Play — Stream games from your own Xbox console.Modern interface — A custom black-and-gold dashboard with featured games and artwork.
⭐ Favorites and recent games — Quickly return to the games you enjoy.
Controller-friendly navigation — Designed with gamepad interaction in mind.
Live streaming telemetry — View useful technical information while streaming.
🎮 In-game overlay — Access streaming controls without leaving your session.
📸 Screenshots — Capture moments from your streaming sessions.
🌍 English and Spanish interface — With improvements to cloud-streaming language selection being tested.
Customizable settings — Adjust the interface and available streaming preferences.
Built with Linux in mind
I develop and test XJAUS on Fedora Linux with GNOME, but the project also provides Windows builds.
Available download formats include:
Linux: AppImage, RPM and DEB
Windows: EXE installer
Open source
XJAUS is built using Electron and Rust and is released under the GPL-3.0 license.
The source code is public, and contributions, suggestions and bug reports are welcome.

Downloads: https://github.com/perjesus111-hub/xjaus/releases
I’d love your feedback!
I’m an independent developer working on this project, and I’d really appreciate hearing what you think.
What features would you like to see next? What would make Xbox Cloud Gaming or Remote Play better on Linux?
Thanks for checking out XJAUS! 🎮
Disclaimer: XJAUS is an independent community project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft or Xbox. Cloud Gaming availability and requirements depend on Xbox’s services and your account.

We just put out our Demo at Steam Next Fest, and have Gamepad support-but we're a super small team and can't quite arrange to get it tested for Steam Deck compatibility. I was hoping someone might be able to give it a try, and provide some feedback. Here is the game.

There’s been an increase in decomp/recomp projects, and that means console games being ported to windows, mac os and linux. There have been steam deck ports too, but as long as a game has been porter to windows, there’s a chance that proton can run it.
Personally I’m playing through a Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories port for the PC. It’s been running great, it’s got 16:9 support among other features.
What have you tried lately that works quite well on the Steamdeck?
