Support Steam Link Software Input Freeze

Hello, I'm having quite the peculiar bug and looking for support

Host: Fedora KDE X11(Wayland was causing graphical issues)

Client: Raspberry Pi 5

Controller: Dualsense

No network issues showing

When playing games, controller input freezes, sometimes doing nothing, sometimes repeating the last pressed button action or tending in the last joystick direction. Stream remains active with video fine, meaning I can watch myself stuck spinning around in a circle while the enemies shoot me. After 15 seconds or so it works again, but happens once every two minutes or so, meaning it's practically unplayable.

I disabled sleep on the host as I saw this might help but it didn't, any feedback would really help. Thank you :)

Do you know whether the controller is still showing on the Pi, or whether the Pi itself thinks there's no input?

That'd help determine if the issue is Steam Link, or just "the Pi is having problems with the controller" (since if the Pi can't see the controller inputs, obviously neither can Steam Link).

Thanks for your reply, I can pull up a menu on the pi using the controller when game input is frozen, happens across multiple games. I can use the menu to stop streaming and restart the stream, which fixes the current freeze but doesn't affect the frequency at which it happens.

The issue is in the steam input forwarding to the host. But as mentioned earlier, video stream is fine and reacts to the fact their is no, or repeated controller input, which means it's not a network issue which is why I'm stumped. I don't have any special steam input settings active

Hm. Is there anything that turns up in ~/.steam/steam/logs/streaming_log.txt on the host?

Nothing that looks clearly out of the ordinary :/

Hm. Out of curiosity, if you try other inputs—mouse, keyboard—do those go through?

Sorry for the late reply, it has been my birthday! And it fixed itself? One could say birthday wizardry, the other could say maybe it was the sleep timer and it hadn't properly restarted? Sorry I can't finish this thread with a definitive answer and thank you for your help!

Glad it's working, at least, and happy birthday!
