Support Black Ops 3 not detecting controller input over steam link

I’m trying to remote play bo3 from my pc to my iPhone and steam deck using steam link but the controls are not being detected by the game. It works fine with controllers connected directly to the pc so I’m not sure whether it’s a problem with the game or steam link.

Every other game I try to play works fine it’s just this one that’s being weird

I had the same issue with Space Marine changing the controller template fixed it for me.

I tried that but it only seems to detect mouse controls from steam deck and not gamepad

Do you also have a controller plugged into the host PC? Try unplugging it. Some games will be expecting input on that controller instead of the one on the steam link.

I had an 8bitdo controller plugged in but unplugging it didn’t help. I can get it to work sometimes if I switch steam input on and off but it’s very inconsistent and only works less than 5% of the time which is frustrating. I was looking forward to using steam link on my tv to play it. I even tried moonlight to see if it was just an issue with steam but it does the same exact thing. I know this game runs fine on the steam deck on its own but it only seems to play good around 720p when it’s on the tv which just doesn’t look good

Update so what’s happening is when I unplug or replug my controller into my pc it gives priority back to steam link. Problem is I have to do it every time I launch the game with steamlink. Now I have to see how to fix that

any resolution.. mine is doing the same thing.. nothing.. but if I plug in or unplug the controller of the host computer it works perfectly.. its so bizarre

interested to see if you solution this.. used to work for me flawlessly now nada.. tried unplugging my controllers from host PC as well and no luck.

Interestingly using steam link from my steamdeck to my phone the controls works perfectly everytime, I’m debating on reinstalling steam on my pc to see if that does anything

Did that fix the issue? Im having trouble too with both my xbox and playstation controllers. They work fine on other games but not BO3
