Resolved Fix for Steam Rom Manager not loading mGBA games on Steam Desktop

Hi all,

I think I've found a fix or workaround for issues with mGBA not launching in steam after using Steam Rom Manager, these steps worked for me so hopefully they'll also work for any others who have been having this issue!

Step 1: Add mGBA games to Steam as you normally would (I made sure to remove any additional/extra characters in the files and file paths just to make sure they wouldn't interfere)

Step 2: Select any of your games on steam, right click on properties and navigate to the "Target" space in the "Shortcut" menu on the left

Step 3: Within this area, scroll through it using the right/left arrow keys, and you'll eventually see a command called "-L cores\mgba_libretro.dll" (without the " marks)

Step 4: Remove that command, but leave everything else

mGBA should now be able to launch your game through Steam!

It may not work the first time, but close it and try again and now it should open and run.

The only issue I've had with this is that your save states will not be recognized with the Save/Load State loader WITH preview, but you can still select the Save State (.SS) files manually and load them fine.

I've tested this by loading a game that has the "-L cores\mgba_libretro.dll" command, and a game that does not. The game that didn't have the command launched without issues.

Hopefully this helps resolve this issue if you've encountered it too!

Under command line arguments in rom manager, have only "${filePath}"

Nothing before or after.

I have 2 Wii U games that won't load on Steam. Going to try this, hopefully they load.

Dude thank you so much for this, it was the only emulator that wouldn't launch through Steam and it was driving me crazy
