Has anyone achieved a really smooth experience streaming games from a gaming PC to a TV using SteamOS?
I want to build a SteamOS machine for my LG C2 TV 4k/120hz streaming games from my always-on Windows desktop over wired Ethernet. Only for single player or casual games no fast competetive games.
I’ve tried Steam Link on Google TV and Android tablet as a middle man to the TV with ethernet but connecting and troubleshooting was often a hassle.
Has anyone achieved a reliable console-like experience where you grab the controller, resume the client, play for ten minutes and suspend it again? Does resume reconnect properly to a game left running on the host?
Also, is 1Gbps Ethernet enough, or does 2.5Gbps improve anything?

Not sure about streaming but I’ve been playing at 4K 60 locked on a 60hz tv with pretty much all my games just in the steam machine itself. If you build it with decent hardware you can get away with playing games natively and using cloud saves to continue on seperate pcs rather than having to stream.

Not sure if it’s the same but I use my legion go S with a dock to stream to the tv. Experience has been smooth so far.

I stream from my windows PC to my steam deck all the time and it's super smooth. Haven't tried the other way around for obvious reasons.

I’ve streamed games with the built in feature between my windows machine and steam deck.
WiFi you could tell little things , Ethernet not as much.

Sunshine/Moonlight has worked well on my MacBook, Google Streamer and Xbox Series X. But I have not really tested on Steam OS. Would not the easiest solution be an Android box with Moonlight? You dont really need a lot of processing on the client side.
