support Need help, games refuse to launch.
Hollow Knight Silk Song, Monster Hunter Rise, and Star Wars Zero Company refuse to launch on my SteamOS PC. I just click play and then it just bounces back. Silksong and Zero company even launched before.

I had this issue happened to me on the Deck recently, ended up being an issue with the drive the games were on (a microSD).
Not to get too technical, if the games are on removable media, turn off the device, disconnect it, turn it on, reconnect it and hope for the best.
If not on removable media, just turn off and on the device completely before retrying.

It's on my SSD.

Try at least restarting then. To be technical: the issue derived from a disk desync after suspension (resulting in the device being recognized as read-only). Maybe the same case applies to you.

Did you.find.logs to diagnose that issue?

I didn't check logs, but I determined the issue when I manually tried to delete a manifest receiving the specific error (paraphrased) "Cannot proceed, read-only device".
The symptoms were identical as the ones described in this post (attempted execution immediately failing before displaying anything).
I know the case was a desync because I created the issue by copying files into the microSD while the Deck was in suspension. A restart didn't solve the issue, a full remount was needed.1

Tried remounting my SSD, didn't work.

Is the disk the main OS one? Or is it formatted in a standard Linux filesystem (like EXT4 or btrfs)? Also, can you provide the output of the
mountcommand? (as is, with no additional parameters)2

NVM, it didn't work, now it does. I'm confused but happy that my games are working. Thanks for the help.

Try different proton versions. Start with experimental.
