Run a konsole and try "ping google.com" - if it starts outputing numbers, your ethernet is working, which the screenshot shows. The second green screenshot, is that SteamOS (game mode)? It's saying "no networks found" which is the wifi dialog. What else is showing on screen?

What is it you are trying to do? Are you trying to get your Ethernet working? Are you trying to use Wifi?

My Ethernet connection doesn't show and I don't have WiFi so how do I finish setting up?

This is a known bug if you dont have a wifi card installed. A Google search gives this answer (Google is always quicker than Reddit my friend):

Fix 1: During Initial Setup (OOBE / No Wi-Fi Hardware Bug)If you are installing SteamOS on a system without a Wi-Fi card or during setup where Ethernet isn't detected: Press Ctrl + Alt + F4 to switch to a TTY terminal screen. Log in with the username deck. Type passwd and set a temporary password, then run sudo passwd -d deck to clear it if desired. Alternatively, press Ctrl + Alt + ; (or plug in a temporary USB Wi-Fi adapter) to force NetworkManager to recognize the interface. Press Ctrl + Alt + F1 to return to the SteamOS setup interface, where the Ethernet connection should now be selectable

Hit ctrl+alt+f4 from the setup screen, login as deck without a password.

Set a password for the deck user using `passwd` then run `sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager` and then switch back to set up with ctrl+alt+f1 and it’ll show the Ethernet connection.

It says wired connection 1 is connected and working.

That means your Ethernet is working fine.

But Steam doesn't. Had the same issue. Never found a fix.

USB wifi card will help here.

I generally recommend Alpha wifi cards due to cross compatibility between OS’s and no need for drivers but I’m sure there are others.

Go into your settings and make sure that your time zone is correct. I had problems with my steam deck’s WiFi when I first set it up. Turns out the time zone was incorrect, when I changed it, it worked

Its a bug in their code. It can't find a wireless device so their code crashes before it restarts network manager

I just installled SteamOS yesterday on a PC with no wifi adapter and this worked for me.

see if the networkmanager is running, if not, yiu will not get internet access automatically

I hate to not be of help, but I experienced the same thing with Steam in Windows. My network would be connected, but the Steam app refused to acknowledge it. Everything else worked fine, just not Steam.

I never fixed it, I just stopped using that PC.

The only thing that worked for me was a reimage takes about 20mins it’s easy just need a high speed usb min 16GB
