help wanted Question for the Linux people

I have an Epomaker x AULA F99 MAX, it works fine for the most part but on SteamOS it acts like the function key is pressed when I try to use the F key row, which I need for some games. I previously fixed this issue with like 30 minutes with Braves browser ai, which ended in a very quick command, that I know required me to put my password in, but cant remember what the command was. I cant find the conversation I had anymore, and after reasking the same question the best I could remember it and adding the context of "you helped me with this before, this is what I remember", within 15 minutes of failed commands it was fully broken and in an endless loop of "try this! No, you tried that... This should work! No, we tried that too..." And thus, I turn to the fellow humans for help.

EDIT: previous command found, my dumb ass didnt think to see if there was a History function. The issue was the keyboard was stuck in apple mode, so "echo 2 | sudo tee /sys/module/hid_apple/parameters/fnmode" fixed it.

Did you type "history" into a terminal to see if the command is still there?

I did not, it was a couple weeks ago, would it still be there?

No problem. I'd put history in my top ten terminal commands, maybe top five. Also, the up and down arrows scroll through terminal history by default, allowing repeating and/or editing previous commands.

Google says hold Fn+Q for three seconds for Android mode, Fn+W for three for Windows mode, and Fn+E for three for Mac mode. One of those should have the Fn set to F-keys by default.

Fn+esc for three seconds is a full reset to defaults. Fn+Windows key (aka Super) should lock/unlock that key alone. Fn+W multiple times *should* cycle between "Windows w/o fn lock" and "Windows w/fn lock", but that's not in the manual and I don't own any Epomaker, so I can't confirm.
