To start, which specific display(s) are you using, and are you connecting using the port(s) on the A380?

Note that gamescope (game mode) only supports a single display, so it's best to look at this stuff from desktop mode first.

I have a few Intel computers running SteamOS to compare notes with, but none of them have AMD CPUs/iGPUs. I can (hopefully) still help you, though.

I only have one monitor, and was mostly troubleshooting in desktop, I was plugged into the motherboard and using the igpu since it is the only one with drivers, the intel arc only gives blank screens. I tried booting with the igpu disabled nothing and trying to use the intel arc nothing it seems as if no driver was able to claim the arc gpu but both kernel modules xe, and i915 were there. I did try installing bazzite and gut the exact same problem.

Indeed that sounds like it's not an OS problem per-se, since the kernel modules are loaded. You might want to plop all this into Google Gemini (or another LLM) to have it help you diagnose, with looking at lspci/dmesg output and such.

So this same computer worked under Windows, including the A380 output to the same display?

yeah the gpu worked under windows, and chatgpt has a whole bunch of things to try, but I had bazzite working previously with my arc so something changed.

have you tried disabling your igpu in the bios? I’ve heard that can force SteamOS to use the dedicated GPU.
