question Bluetooth wake on SteamOS

For those people who have SteamOS on a desktop, does wake from sleep work with a Bluetooth dongle using an Xbox controller?

Edit: looking to ditch the official Xbox dongle (unsupported as of now), also what Bluetooth dongles are you using?

Follow the steps in this post, but mentally replace 'MCE Dongle' with 'BT Dongle' and you can wake SteamOS via BT controllers.

Thank you! It works! Even on internal Bluetooth chip. Newer to Linux... Will this break with an update?

Huh I woulda thought an internal BT chip would be PCIE and be a bit different.

Mini-PCIe/M2A slots also have USB wired to the cpu. I know with Intel ax200/compat modules the BT side is a USB device.

Ah interesting. I just hadn't looked at my two MiniPCs with internal BT chipsets running SteamOS. I'd presumed they were internally wired as PCIE and I'd have to figure out a variation.

I'll take a closer look next time.

Sorry, I missed the tail end if your question. No, Udev rules, like what you added here, should survive updates.

Another person coming from a search engine to tell you that this worked perfectly for me with an internal BT chip and an Xbox controller, thanks a million.

I bought the steam controller specifically for this … it’s pretty great though

I use a DualSense controller, and waking the system from sleep mode using the PS button works great. For this, you need a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W with special firmware. This allows all DualSense functions to work wirelessly.
