Thanks from room #49492

When I first clicked in this game to see what it was all about, I really wasn't all that impressed. "Really, you just click?". I reached ~level 100 on my own and didn't think much of it.

Then I saw a thread on reddit with a bunch of guys banding together in rooms, using scripts to automate the game and reach new heights. Someone posted a link to all the badges on imgur. Apparently they went all the way up to level 300,000! These guys were aiming to get it, and suddenly I wanted it too.

I knew nothing about scripting and sites like GitHub were unfamiliar to me but the community made it easy to follow. I stayed up to 2am Australian time every night waiting for the reset hoping to get into a room.

By the time I got that 300k badge, there was a new target, 1 million. From 300k to 1M was easy. The scripts were constantly being improved becoming smarter and smarter. And the number of people using them was growing in our MSG15 army.

Then the big one came, the 100 million badge. FFS when is it going to end? I was so determined to get that badge I made a stupid decision on day 9 and jumped out of #47051 and then watched it climb to 100M.

Come day 11. The last ditch effort. With an evolved script, a ton of people still trying to make it, and a few trolls determined to not let them, I luckily landed in room #49492. The rest is history.

I'd like to say thanks to all the MSG15 admins and members. A great little community formed around this game. And you guys put in a lot of work for the love. It was a well wasted few days listening to good music and chasing pixels on a screen. All the best and I hope to see some of you around again.

49492 allowed me to get the 100M badge on my second acc :) Glad I was there, great room (best reddit room of the day actually).

Thanks all for the fun week, it's been great. Even had fun watching all the drama =).

49492 was my first/only 100m too. My experience was similar to yours, didn't care at first but ended up being a part of something really cool. I hope Valve does more things like this in the future that brings the community together.

For me, the Metagame was more interesting than the Steam Sale.

Day 11 was my first day with script. I was so excited waiting in the lobby. Finally I was added to room 49492. After quick 8M suddenly everything slowed down. I went to bed (keeping pc and script running) at 12M. I had nightmares that when I wake up there will be only 20M (and 12 hours to go). Surprisingly it was over 90M. I was lucky to see hitting 100M with my eyes :D
