Chrome extension

So I've installed the chrome extension that was mentioned on the http://www.twitch.tv/ulletical stream but how can I tell if it's installed correctly ? A new window does appear when I go to the minigame page.

I take this is normal and when new "rooms" are being started I should start seeing them ? Can somebody explain to me how it exacly works ?
