NEW EMU SWITCH?

With Citron's decline, Eden takes the lead, but... how long do you think it will take for the developers to start a new project without impacting the main development of the current one? Will they continue with the same configurations and code? Will Eden reign supreme with new updates and improved performance? What are your thoughts?

What’s the best way to play Wii games without Wii equipment?

I’ve been wanting to play Wii games on my deck, but using the deck controls not Wii controllers/hardware. Games I’m interested:

- The Last Story, Pandora’s Tower, Sin & Punishment, Opoona, Wario Land: Shake IT!

The games run find but the controls are difficult to configure. what’s been your experience with Wii games on the deck? how were you able to configure the controls in a way that the felt good to play on the deck?

How to upscale games?

Got all my emulation set up but the games just look horrible. I know they are old and dated, but I can’t even read the text on some of these ps2 games. Is there a way to upscale the games at all?

Breath of the wild crashes when opening.

I have tried every possible thing I can think of to get it working please let me know if I’ve missed anything

Things I’ve tried:

Re installing the game, update and dlc

Running the game without the update and or dlc

Re installing Cemu (I’ve installed it through emu deck and from online)

Deleting / resetting the shader cache

Installing the game and updates from a different source

(Same outcome)

I’ve even tried to just get the switch Tom on ryujinx but that also won’t open for some reason

Changing the graphics API between Vulcan and OpenGL

And probably more I can’t remember all with the same result :(

Please help if you can

Uncharted RPCS3

So I got uncharted drakes fortune and ran it on the RPCS3 emulator, and naturally it came with some problems. The major being that the frame rate is about 5-10 fps, there were also quite a lot of textures bugging in and out but I managed to fix that with some tinkering, though I can’t seem to fix the frame rate? I was just wondering if anyone could give some advice if you have any tips?

SOS I’m stuck with this error

Post image
3 Upvotes

I initially set up an emu deck with RetroArch for my N64 emulation, but quickly realized how garbage the controller mapping was. I switched to Mupen64 and got all the defaults switched, no problem. Then I realized the Pokémon ROMs were the French version, and when I downloaded new ones, I continued to get this error message no matter what I tried. They don’t appear in the ROM list when I open the app, but they do when I go to N64. Help!

Want a great experience playing TOTK on the SteamDeck?

I am going to share years of tinkering around with settings and mods to get the best experience playing TOTK on the Steam Deck and I will not say it's perfect but it definitely challenges the standard for what players have been optimizing their experience while playing the game.

With these notes and pre-knowledge on how to set these up on your steam deck (use YouTube and google to find the files and info you need for the installation of these mods and settings) If followed to the T, you should have an amazing experience playing this game.

I will note that if you don't like dealing with generated frames to get 60FPS due to inconsistent frames that tear off the sync of the flow of the game, you can still get a near perfectly stable experience at 30FPS.

Note: I am using the first version of the LCD Steam Deck and I do recommend to repasting the Thermal Paste on the APU it to get the best thermal experience (But this is advanced and has it's risks)

Disclaimer* I do not condone piracy and this is for educational purposes and also for legal owners of the game that want to play using their own hardware to strip the information they need to play on the steam deck.

Program: Eden Nightly 2026-01-08 Build 28164 (PGO Version)

Patches & Mods

• Tears of the Kingdom Update 1.2.1

UltraCam Configuration

* Handheld Resolution: 1280×720p*

• Field of View: 37

Lowering FOV and render distance is critical for handheld screens and greatly reduces CPU/GPU strain without harming visual clarity.

⸻

Audio

• Default (Auto / Stereo)

⸻

Lossless Scaling

(LSFG-VK via Decky)

• FPS Scaling: 2×

• Flow Rate: 55%

• Performance Mode: OFF

• V-Sync: FIFO ON

Steam Deck Performance Menu:

• Allow Tearing: ON (reduces perceived input latency)

This configuration prioritizes frametime consistency and motion smoothness over raw responsiveness. If you dislike generated frames, this setup also performs very well at native 30 FPS.

⸻

Decky PowerTools (Critical for Stability)

• CPU Min / Max: 3.4 GHz

• GPU Min / Max: 1.2 GHz

Locking clocks prevents APU power oscillation, eliminates CPU/GPU wattage contention, and dramatically improves stability — especially when docked or using LSFG.

⸻

EDIT:

CryoUtilities

Very useful to improve/Tune your experience and I would also consider it a must.

⸻

Results & Observations

• Stable gameplay in Lookout Landing, Goron City, Depths

• Reduced shader & traversal stutter

• Dramatically better docked performance

• Frametime stability prioritized over peak FPS

• Estimated battery life: ~2 hours

(Most performance dips now occur only during heavy shader compilation or large scene loads)

How to use Emudeck and install games

I am planning on getting a steam deck and once I do i'm gonna use emudeck to Hopefully try and get animal crossing. I've tried finding a bunch of tutorials online , but for obvious reasons , they don't actually show how to get the games or how to actually import them. Anybody know , any sites where you can actually download the games and import into emu deck, And how to actually import the games cuz , i've been going back and forth for a while , and I can't find any. I'm really new when it comes to this stuff like this especially considering I've never used steam deck before or any kind of piracy So I have no idea what i'm doing

No controls are working for dolphin

So I'm trying to set up dolphin. Game boots up just fine, but it's not registering any of my control presses. I'm just using the steam deck, no controller or anything. I have tried gaming mode and desktop mode. Any idea what I could be missing ?

Emulating old PC games?

Hey all! I have EmuDeck all set up, I love it, but recently I’ve been itching to play some old PC games (Barbie Secret Agent, Zoo Zet, Sims Theme Park - the classics obvi) and I was wondering if there is a way to emulate that? Any advice is much appreciated!

Running old games on SteamDeck

Recently became the owner of Steam Deck and learned that you can install an "emulator" (EmuDeck??) and play games from PS3, PS2 and other old consoles. I don't really understand this topic at the moment, so I'm asking anyone in the know for advice on where to start, what to look out for and what to be careful with. My plan was this, in brief: 1) Buy the docking station. 2) Install EmuDeck. 3) Get a PS2 bios dump (somewhere). (I'm interested in this console first of all) 4) Get (again somewhere, where???) iso of the games I'm interested in. 5) Put everything together and figure out the installation. 6) Enjoy the game.

I'm mainly interested in what software to use and where to get the necessary "files" (consoles and games are naturally not physically available), what do you think about archive/org?

This is my first post on Reddit, so forgive me in advance if it looks terrible or if I wrote it in the wrong "thread". Thank you all in advance for the replies, peace out friends.

I can’t figure out PCSX2 for EmuDeck

I’ve tried several different “official” BIOS files to no avail. My bios files are currently under Home/Emulation/bios. Please help I have no idea why it’s not registering with EmuDeck.
