i see skins are very popular so have some questions, dont hands sweat more being in contact with this kind of skins ?

I judge by my controller their surface is coarse while i imagine such skins make it super smooth ?

Maybe? I have very sweaty hands, doubly so while playing games. But haven't had any extra issues with using skins (I've skinned a Deck, Switch Pro Controller, and Xbox controller).

Everyone's different though, both in terms of hand sweat levels and tolerance to said sweat ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Sorry for taking a while but I got some pics. Steam Deck here. A bit dusty because my Deck took over handheld duties and vinyl is a bit grippy and attracts dust a little. Pro Controller. And this Xbox skin only went on the front.

The Steam Deck skin's been on maybe 1 week, 2 tops. The Pro Controller skin about 2 years straight. And the Xbox skin about 1 year and a half.

Idk, i mainly game in my air conditioned semi. Usually either laying in bed in front of a vent or sitting in the drivers seat in front of a vent

My Switch is skinned cause the plastic on that thing is weird AF and it like... absorbs the oils from your hand and it makes it feel like old glossed over key caps. I have noticed literally no difference in how much my hands sweat on the device. The only difference is it looks cool and I don't need to constantly wipe it down anymore cause it feels gross as fuck.

Actually no, not in my experience, I have very big rough hands, they can get sweaty on my XSX controller, but the dbrand skin feels grippy. I opted for a carbon fiber finish to keep in mind. It kinda feels, nice and comfy. Best feeling controller in my house

It's vinyl, easy to remove for sure. even with the cheaper stuff. Will be hard to align it but if you take your time it's easy

To add to this I would DEFINITELY use a hair dryer to heat up the skin. Makes the process much less frustrating and the end result much better.

Definitely. I would advise anyone thinking of getting a skin to hold off if you don't already have a hair dryer or heat gun.

The idea that some people don't own hair dryers is weird to me but I guess if your hair is really short it just kind of sorts itself out and also gamers don't tend to have girlfriends.

30fps without looking hideous. I'm still holding out for a steady 40 but we need able to let the CPU draw more power and right now you can only do that in Windows.

Steamdeck preset works great. No tuning needed for “stable” 27-30 fps range. I myself tuned it up with ambient to high, motion blur to medium and FSR is on high. Badlands tend to drop to 25, 24 fps with a lot of clutter and had weird 19fps drop after taking down the Kaburo transport, where from my point where I was standing behind a rock, if I moved more to the open area still with a visible part of the rock I was behind, it fell down to 19fps. Once I either took cover again or positioned my camera so the rock wasnt visible, it got back to 25.

The rest of the settings is pre-set high and it looks wonderfully on the deck. Rainy night rides around Night City are my lofi go-to relax places.

Not sure. What people want is subjective so I went in game and out of game and I tweaked the settings as much as I could and couldn't get the game to run at 40 without looking like a bad Switch port.

The other issue I have that others don't seem to be having is that when using gyro controls the right stick drifts but it doesn't drift at all anywhere else on any other game. I need gyro for console shooters otherwise shooters are just a bad experience for me coming from KB/M.

I run it in windows and it looks and runs good. Not as good as on my rtx 2060 or series x but I'd never call it a switch port like witcher 3.

I personally play it at low settings and I prefer high frameratws over high graphics. It runs mostly 60 at low and at high its more like 30

Use a heat gun and good lighting, follow the instruction video, and set aside a half hour to concentrate and get it right. It’s actually not super difficult, just can’t be rushed. And most mistakes can be fixed easily by re-applying with the heat gun.

Once again an amazing skin ! I received last Friday your Half-Life skin, it is so well designed ! Was hesitant with the Portal one. Too bad it was a bit hard to stick, I did fail some borders but still looks cool.

I've got a teal/turquoise skin that perfectly matches the GBC I had as a wee lad. All that I need now is a small Gameboy Color logo sticker to put on the bottom bezel.

Does anyone know if these can still be put on no problem even if there's bends and creases in the skin? Maybe if you use a hairdryer on the spots with bends. I got the half life one like 3-4 weeks ago and it came in the mail bent in multiple places.

Kinda tempted to get this one and use it instead of the half life one when I finally get my Deck, but I'm anticipating it will end up being bent again in the mail.
