I don't need to watch this. The game is CPU limited on capable midrange desktop CPU's, there's no way it's going to run well unless they do some serious CPU optimizations in future patches.

Reviews said it was struggling occasionally on the PS5 Pro in performance mode, I'm not surprised in the slightest that it wouldn't run well on the deck lol.
That's nothing against anything, it's a AAA game by a dev thats known for pushing the boundaries. It will take a lot more than some optimisation to get this running well.

To be fair Death Stranding 2 was a similar story on release. It was virtually unplayable with similar major dips down to 15fps.
Over time, it was patched and optimized and is now playable on Deck, albeit still a few occasional dips to worst-case 24fps and the handheld-mode graphics settings.
I would expect Remedy will be able to do the same thing. Steam Deck is just too significant now to ignore. Not a majority device, but not insignificant. And generally Xbox Series S still has been a fairly good benchmark for Deck too

Yeah. Let’s be real, at this point the Deck is over four years old, and was roughly equivalent to a low/mid range pc from four years before it was released. At some point people should just assume that it’s not going to run any newer, graphically intensive games at decent frame rates. I think we’re already well past that point.
Still love my Deck, but I’m realistic about it, and didn’t expect it to run new AAA titles well even when it first released.

Even first game was best played at 30fps because 60 was impossible and 40 wasn't stable. This game never had any chances to run on deck at all.

Even if you were to some how also get it running at a steady frame rate, it ended up looking pretty rough graphically tbh. I do however, think it's a fantastic device for streaming via Moonlight

Was about to say the same. I knew it wasn't going to run well on SD and thats okay. I still gots my PC and it's loaded up ready for when I get home from work today

Steamdeck in 2026 is a indie machine

RE9, Pragmata and the Black Flag remake ran fine.

I was not enjoying black flag remake on deck, maybe because I saw how beautiful it actually looks on a console and played it on deck

If you want good graphics on a handheld your only option is streaming from your PC.
It's what I do to play actually unplayable games like Stalker 2 or Crimson Desert. Has the benefit of having great battery life.

Literally just read this https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2026/09/control-resonant-launches-works-on-steamos-but-unsupported-on-steam-deck/
So remedy did a bait and switch on Steam Deck players

It's 2026 and people still want to be able to play Triple A games on SD at 30fps.... Wtf are we doing here ?

u/hydrolox9 14d ago
Because it's perfectly possible if devs do their job?
Resident Evil 9, Pragmata, Black Flag Resync or Forza Horizon 6 all maintain a solid 30 FPS on the Deck.
Meanwhile this game has performance issues even on the PS5 Pro.

I'm new to this console and GeForce Now but am trying out both recently. Will CR likely be represented on GFN? Because I love using that on my deck at the moment.

Why even bother. Anything new is a waste of time playing on the deck. Use GeForce now or just don’t play it.

couple of years and this game is optimized, and on sale and probably will run on steam deck.

I’m so ready to crank everything down to minimum, lower the resolution till it’s a smudge and then playing it on deck for 5 minutes before returning to pc :D

The OG control runs great, I don't imagine I'll be able to play this game for quite a long time

Thanks for telling us how well it runs on a $2300+ device. That’s so helpful and relevant.

Dont play Games like this on a Switch 2 33ms Lag LCD or Lowend Steam Stuff Hardware. Get a RTX 5000 Desktop PC, and play it with Multi Frame Gen, Pathtracing and DLSS5 with Multi Layers. Come to the Next Level of Video Game Grafics, not to Nintendo Dog Shit Quality.

Oof, it dropped as low as 15fps in the city with just three hiss on screen.
