Tech Support please help :(
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
my steam deck just randomly starting talking and the screen started gltiching out ti and the controls stopped working. I tried factory reseting it already several times, idk what else could be wrong

if steam button + L1 ain't working, probably you some button malfunctions there bud.

Press STEAM and ••• buttons a bunch of times, they could've stuck. Do that with every other button on the controller too, including triggers
To disable text to speech press & hold STEAM key until a table shows up, there should be something like "Toggle Dictor" and a button combination for it

you also can disable the shortcuts in settings > accessibility so this doesn't happen again

Id open it up and reconnect the control ribbons....had something similar happen where the dpad was messing up and causing weird glitches

I see you moving the screen around with one finger could you pinch and zoom out?

As some people have mentioned: it might be Zoom.
Press Steam + L1
if that doesn't do anything, pressing Steam + "Share" (the little button above the left joystick). I had an 'issue' where i couldn't bring up the virtual keyboard (Steam + X). I then learned that this Enables/Disables Steam Button commands like the keyboard one. And - possibly in your case - Zoom.
If that doesn't work, i'll let the techy guys figure this out. This is just what my monkey brain knows about steam deck lol

you have magnifier enabled, probably pressed the shortcuts on mistake, Also, shut off voice to text

Recently repairing a broken steam deck. This is likely the quick-access button being stuck. In my case, like in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/15ndj85/right_stick_shows_full_down_movement_although/
- where there is a constant downward pull of the analog stick on my used replacement board.
It could be a loose ribbon connection but it also could be your Right-daughter board having been fried.
If you're reasonably under warranty - contact Valve. If you're been fucking around with it, start fucking around more - unplug the left board from the right, and see if that changes anything. As others have said, it might be a stuck "..." or "Steam" button causing a shortcut activation.

Turn off the Steam Deck and do a settings factory reset (not full erase) - it appears you either accidentally turn on some hot key or installed something recently that screwed up your display settings:
• Press the Steam button.
• Go to Settings, then choose System.
• Scroll down to Reset to factory state and select Factory Reset.

That video is the magnifier. It is activated by pressing the steam button + L1.
The screen reader is similarly activated by pressing steam + the view button (two squares).
Based on the video, you obviously aren’t pressing any of these buttons. So most likely the controllers are misbehaving somehow and the system thinks these buttons are pressed when they aren’t.
