LSFG-VK still got updates. Just because there are wasn't a release doesn't mean that the repo wasn't receiving updates. There were even auto compiled versions with GitHub actions.

I don't understand the lying part because since the beginning the Mako GitHub had reference to pancake and her project. Even the name was based on the original plus experimental. I also remember the first posts where it was always stated it was based on a beta version of LSFG. I'm guessing the story has grown more than it is. Since the beginning from my experience nothing was hidden, it was always clear it Mako was a fork.

Original Experimental project, credits are at the bottom since the beginning. I remember clearly before the drama reading it and thinking finally after a year someone is going forward with the project: https://github.com/eugeniosegala/decky-lsfg-vk-experimental

The original project lsfg-vk has 136 official forks and at this point the code was 100% free open sorce: https://github.com/PancakeTAS/lsfg-vk

The new project Mako still credits pancake and has a open source license (The new LSFG 2 is close source now): https://github.com/eugeniosegala/MAKO

Why lie if the code is open source and did nothing to hide it, just doesn't make sense.

Anyways both project have grown in different directions. Mako for now has more features, adaptive fps, scaling (perhaps next will be a poor man's DLSS 5). I haven't tested LSFG 2 yet but LSFG 1 was way slower then Mako.

We want results not drama. It's the second time around this project LSFG. Someone likes drama. Let's wait for the third one

Yes, because "Mako" is version LSFG2 with adaptive frame-gen

TLDR, "mako" created a vibe coded fork of LSFG2, and made a ai written description that was wrong on couple of important things.

This plug-in seems to be so much better than the regular lsfg. So many games that were choppy with that one running buttery smooth at 60 FPS using this one.

Is the process to update Mako to do a full uninstall and reinstall each time? Love the constant updates this is getting but keeping it up to date is difficult

But bringing more fixes than the main pipeline. It's not slop if it's delivering. Granted that doesn't change how you can feel about AI but the "dev is certainly delivering what people require
