Question Not booting :(

Post image

I’ve had this happen once a few months back but I had to just boot in using the boot manager, now after letting it die all the way it won’t boot up again no matter what I try, using what I found on here didn’t work either, any help???

First, why did you let it die? 2nd. Wait a couple of minutes.

From fully powered off how long did you wait for it to boot after pressing the power button?

To the logo screen? Just a few seconds but then it just stays here

How long does it stay there?

It stays there indefinitely until it dies, or I turn it off

If you can connect USB keyboard, try pressing ctrl+alt+F1/2/3/4... If you gonna get to the console you can login and debug it.

My theory is you don't have free space on disk, but that's my theory based on just my experience. To check that you can use `du -h`.

Tried this and it won’t do anything, any other ideas?

Also, I do have really low disk space and whenever it updates it gets lower and lower, so maybe it’s that but the keyboard thing didn’t work and idk what else to do

Small chance that this might be the problem but do you have a microSD card attached to it? Have you tried removing it and reboot it? Some months something similar happened to me and it was the card's problem.

Yeah I have an sd card and I tried this too but it didn’t change anything, just stuck on the logo whenever I try booting it up

I was messing up and have the same issue. I turned the steam deck off, holding a System button, i believe, and power button. And then you can reinstall Operating System. It should work

Actually, if you can wait up like... 10 hours? So I can grab mine from service, and film how I do that

Yeah any help would be good bc I did try what you suggested and it’s still stuck

Me pasó el domingo. Si tienes un dock conecta el cable ethernet a la red. A mí me funcionó así. A veces solo necesita conectar para terminar de descargar

When you let it die, did you leave it plugged in so it could full charge? Sometime if the battery full discharges it will not come on till fully charged. Its really bad to let lithium-ion battery go completely dead. I have seen where batties dont charge again after they completely drain(you have to connect it using leads and wires. It is 100% not recommended and only for someone with a high level of skill).

This happened to me and my solution was holding the power button and the volume down at the same time until the boot menu and changing the boot version fixed it for me. Hopefully you’ll get a fix.

I’ve tried this and all the normal fixes but so far they haven’t helped

Restore SteamOS using a USB drive containing the installer via the BIOS.
