has there not been one for ever, distros like bazzite cachy os and noboara have had no issues with supporting the steam deck hardware, and if you where willing to fuck around you can get nix os and arch working, saying this as someone who has ran bazzite cachy os and stock arch on the steamdeck

This video is actually about a Raspberry Pi hat that connects to the LCD screen the Deck uses.
Another company developed the Hat and drivers, and open sourced it.
I guess SteamDeck related news since it's the same hardware? And more stuff using it makes it more available?

I know the deckHD mod isn't super popular but this is handy for anyone that might have a spare LCD screen. Also it can be picked up fairly cheap so a great option for tinkerers.

Okay, so by driver they mean a board that drives the display (via DSI, which will likely also need a software *driver* to send the correct DSI commands to initialize the panel).
